Hi Everyone.
I'm pretty new here.
I am 5'3" and weight 106 lbs. I recently put on about 5 lbs- due to a very poor diet due to very long work hours.
Anyhow, I've hired a trainer to help me get down my weight so that I could fit back into my pants....and do them up!
I was an elite athlete my whole life, and I'm only 28 now. Anyway, I am very active, working out 6 days per week, 1 day was weights. I'm in good shape already.
Since I hired the trainer, he changed my workout routine to Sunday,Monday, Friday cardio and Tuesday, Thursday weights. I take off Wed and Sat.
He also put me on a restricted eating plan. For 4 weeks I did no carbs, no sugar (even sweetener).
I got down to 103, but then bounced back up to 105 the next week. I know that weight can fluctuate due to water weight, etc... But what I'm concerned about is two things:
1. Is this diet the wrong way to go? I think I plateaued and now I don't know what to do to lose the extra weight
2. How do I lose the weight in my tummy? This is where the weight is sitting. What do I do?
Thanks for your help!

Since you've been no-carbbing it for the past 4 weeks, what have your other macros looked like? Could you list a sample diet?
You can't spot reduce fat, and it also sounds like you're skinny fat. Have you thought about adding muscle mass, and then cutting the fat afterwards for a better, leaner look?

Hi
Sample Diet:
Typically, on the no complex carb no sugar diet I've been eating
Breakfast: Organic Non Fat Plain Yogurt (5g sugar only per serving- nothing else in it besides yogurt) w/ 1/2 apple and walnuts; 1 cup coffee w/ non fat milk
Lunch: Celery w/ natural peanut butter; 1/2 apple, carrots, almonds
Snack: Usually handful of nuts (almonds and walnuts)
Dinner: Lean Protein (chicken breast, turkey breast), veggies (either broccoli, cauliflower, zucchini, or a salad w/ some grated parmessan on it)
I've thought that I"m not eating enough, but my caloric intake has been around 1900-2000
I am working out- cardio 2x per week at 40-50 min @65% hr; 1 x per week 60 min @ 65% hr; then 2x weights with trainer
I don't know what my body fat is, but I can tell you that I'm not skinny fat. I have muscle definition. It would appear that the weight I've gained has centred around my belly (as far as I can tell)- perhaps a little around my butt.
I just today added back in oats with 1/2 apple and cinnamon in the morning. I was told to re-introduce complex carbs (I'm sticking to oats) for wk 1 every other day; wk 2 two days on, one day off; wk 3 every day (I'll stick to complex carbs in the am)
I decided to change my diet up a bit so today I had:
breakfast: 1/3 cup oats with 1/2 apple, a little maple syrup and cinnamon; 1 cup coffee with non fat milk
lunch: protein powder with 1/2 c OJ (45 grams of protein in 1 scoop of whey poweder- only 190 cals and 0 fat and 1 g carbs)
4x 1" slices of cucumber; 4x 1/5" slices of red pepper; 1/4 apple; 4x 3" celery with p.b. (1.5 tblsp pb in total)
snack: almonds
workout: 50 minutes cardio at 70% max hr
snack: cashews (approx 1/2 c); 2 tbsp apple butter (just pureed apple)
dinner: 5 thin slices roast chicken (only about 4" long, each slice), romaine lettuce with low fat caesar vinigerette
I cheated: I had about a handful of gluten free 73% dark chocolate chips. First time I've had anything like that in 4 weeks. It was a real treat. Only about 110 cals total, 4 g fat (it was organic- dark chocolate, cocoa butter, organic cane sugar-that's it)
I didn't usually eat a lot of dairy, and I'm thinking that maybe eating so much yogurt and cheese wasn't the best idea, so I've cut that out.
I've actually also not been hungry the past 9 days or so, but eating b/c I know I should be eating.
What do I do? I've totally hit a plateau, but I don't quite know how to figure out a way around it.
HELP!!
