What the hell costs so much on an ambulance? My bill for the ambulance, the night of my accident, was around 25k. Insurance paid $24,100, so I'm paying off the $900 right now. Wtf costs 25k?

Well i went to school, for 2 years, when i was working for the sheriff's Dept. they were starting to put medics on the SWAT team and i volunteered for it. Well we got a new sheriff and she did away with the SWAT medics, so i got a job working on an ambulance.
I have been doing it for 10 years

No offense...but how do you work as a medic at 397 lbs? I'm a paramedic/firefighter and find lifting, carrying, stairs, etc hard enough and I'm in pretty decent shape...

Well i may 397lbs. and obese, but i am very active. I play sports with my friends, i hunt and fish all the time. i always stay pretty busy.

I use to when i worked for a private ambulance co. now i work for a tax based co. We are paid a lot better than a private company, plus the benifits are great.

He is right. Private services only care about profit. that dont care about patients or employees, thats is why i quit one of the biggest private services in the nation. I am now working for a parish run tax based service.
