Does anyone else think Ronnies Delts were underrated?
Maybe they are just overshadowed by his other standout bodyparts but i think they are some of the best in the business with all three heads showing great seperation.

Yea they are overshadowed. I think Colemans only weakness was his calves. Every other bodypart was world class or better.

I don't think they're underrated. Whenever someone asks who has the best delts, or a poll on that pops up, his name is always mentioned.
They were definitely among the best ever.

Most pros use synthol somewhere. I don't really think Ruhl's delts are full of oil though. I saw pics of him when he was a teen and they had that strange shape to them.
Plus, he shoulder presses 500+lbs, and oil doesn't move that kind of weight.
That said, I don't think Ruhl has the best delts. They're huge, but I don't think they're the best. Dexter is up there, and Levrone had some insane delts too.

i agree. there is one pic where him and cormier are wearing boxing gloves and it just shows how much more mass ronnie had, esp. in delts than the other top competitors of his time

I think his chest might be the most underrated. They have to be second or third all time if not the best ever.

His delts are huge and conditioned, but they have a sunken look, say compared to jay or dennis wolf.

Ive seen that, makes cormier look like a baby. Twice as thick and his forearms just dominated cormiers.

2003 Mr.O.
Ronnie had rather small dealts at the beginning, but later on his delts exploded and therefore are right there IMO one of the best delts ever.
Even his calves were not weak - just overshadowed. Same with his triceps.
All in all, all of Ronnie's bodyparts were world class or better, like someone already mentioned.

yea I don't hear folks talk about them, but I always thought they were awesome. Other than him, really the only Mr. Olympia who's delts caught my attention were Lee Haney's. Probably cus I saw a pic of him doing the three-quarter turn biceps pose like Arnold used to do and his delts showed so much more it just really stuck with me,lol. But yeah, Ronnie's delts were underrated IMO.

underrated how? They are a strong point among strong points. People are always focused on Ronnie's back that's why his other bodyparts get talked about less.

I don't like his chest that much, back blows me away though. Best Delts of all time in my opinion were Levrone's.

Wolf has some of the best delts out there. Heath's are good too, but his delts/arms are way too big for his chest.

In how far has this sth to do with the thread? Say at least how you think Ronnie's delts are.

I think his delts are good but there were 'faults' as such that would preclude me from regarding his delts as the best ever, the balance and the proportion between the three heads wasn't great, imo. This was evident in the side chest pose; his front delt was too big, subsequently, in some shots it made his chest appear smaller than what it was. Furthermore, I wasn't that keen on his delts in the most muscular, as he got heavier a discrepancy in the balance between the three heads became more apparent. There was also a rather substantial asymmetry between his left and right front delts when he was executing the pose. This issue was present from the start of his Olympia reign. As you can see from the pics below, his right front delt is considerably bigger than his left front delt
I think that his front delt in the pic below is too big for the delt muscle as a whole, whilst it makes his upper chest look smaller than what it is in the pose due to the tie-in between the chest and the delt being compromised as a result of the imbalance....
just my opinion.....

i think just having good seperation between the 3 heads of his delts is what makes them stand out, unlike the delts of say jay cutler or ruhl.

You have to show him next to other pros if you want a pic to prove he has the best delts. I ain't saying that he doesn't, I'm just saying that the pic you show is not evidence.

Yeah, they're ok, but they're definitely a weak point in that pose. His strengths being the delts and the tiny waist.

That's what makes him great, amazing delts like that are merely average in comparison to his other bodyparts. His whole body was that outstanding (less calves)
