Arrow Pepsi One (bad For You? True Or False)

    before voting...
PLEASE SCROLL DOWN FOR ARGUEMENTS BETWEEN THE TWO SIDES

    Pepsi One

Ingredients: carbonated water, caramel color, natural and artificial flavors, phosphoric acid, aspartame, citric acid, sodium benzoate (preserves freshness), caffeine and acesulfame potassium (Ace-K)

DIET SODA basically contain carbonated water and artificial sugar such as sweet n' low or splenda which derived from sugar (which until today has been proven not to cause anything bad to the body and does not raise blood sugar level) so how is diet soda considered bad? little caffeine never hurt anybody so is there any other part of the ingeredient in diet soda that is bad?

IS DIET SODA BAD FOR YOU? TRUE or FALSE
What is your opinion on this matter?

Diet soda contains more caffine I know than regular soda. Plus the concept of it bein diet soda confuses me, if you were dieting, why even drink soda at all? Wayy to much sugar and sodium no matter what way you look at it.
Forum Lurker, any posts seen by this user means either this thread is that important, or I am inconceivably bored. You be the judge.

just think about it the general public being able to start an exercise program that does not have to totally cut off their main staple for liquid...soda. enjoy the same sweet taste of a coke without all the bad side effect...and like what i said earlier the diet soda is sweetened with splenda which does not raise blood sugar level and does not have the same effect as sugar to the body it just have the sweetness of sugar.

I DONT EVEN DRINK SODA or have sweet craving but the question still persist...can diet soda be implemented to your diet without ruining your diet?

To clean a toilet, pour a can of cola into the toilet bowl and let it sit for one hour, and then flush clean.

The carbonic and phosphoric acid in cola removes stains from vitreous china. To remove rust spots from chrome car bumpers, rub the bumper with a rumpled-up piece of aluminum foil dipped in cola.

To clean corrosion from car battery terminals, pour a can of cola over the terminals to bubble away the corrosion. (One at a time, though - don't electrocute yourself!)

To loosen a rusted bolt, apply a cloth soaked in cola to the rusted bolt for several minutes.

To remove grease from clothes, empty a can of cola into a load of greasy clothes, add detergent and run through the regular cycle. The cola will help loosen the grease stains. It will also clean road haze from your windshield.

The active ingredient in cola is phosphoric acid. Its pH is 2.8. It will dissolve a nail in about 4 days. Phosphoric acid also leaches calcium from bones and is a major contributor to the rising increase in osteoporosis and arthritis.

To carry cola syrup (the concentrate), commercial trucks must use hazardous material placards reserved for highly corrosive materials.

The distributors of cola products have been using it to clean the engines of their trucks for about 20 years!

In many states in the U.S., the highway patrol carries two gallons of cola in their vehicle to remove blood from the highway after a car accident.

You can put a T-bone steak in a bowl of cola and it will be gone in two days.

I would think it to be the phosphoric acid and sodium benzoate that would be bad for someone.

Uh, diet soda is fine in moderation. As long as you aren't drinking, like, a gallon a day you'd be fine.

    1-2 cans is fine.

Have you guys considered that MAYBE JUST MAYBE that claims such as brain tumor and all that heavy accusation is done by the sugar company? what would you do if artificial sugar company threaten the BIG SUGAR industry with a new product that prove to be 200X sweeter than sugar, doesn't raise blood sugar and does not have clinically proven facts that they are dangerous? would you just stand back and let them destroy the empire you have built for the past decades? or will you attack all artificial sugar with media telling people that there is a SLIGHT POSSIBILITY that it is dangerous even without any scientific evidence?

(BTW watch "MR.Smith goes to Washington" if you don't believe how strong and capable BIG political/business Machines are in manipulating the media...)

come on guys don't be so NAIVE... this is all business and we really have to find the answer to the question without overlooking evidence that might contradict with our believes.

or not, we bodybuilder will still think that CARDIO is not important to a bodybuilder even until today if no one stands up and challenge the old ways...

BTW from the same link posted http://forum.bodybuilding.com/showpo...19&postcount=2

WE GOTTA READ THE FINE PRINT!!!

There are numerous sites on the internet claiming that aspartame is dangerous and can cause a wide variety of ailmens. Everything ranging from heart attacks, brain tumors, cancer, and death is attributed to aspartame, with absolutely no medical data to prove it. There is a ton of misinformation on this chemical. For no good reason, it has been demonized by some individuals who seem to have a vendette against the medical community, the government or chemical companies. I guess someone forgot to tell them about all the antifreeze in their shampoo. Still, despite overwhelming evidence to the contrary, these people refuse to believe that aspartame is safe. You'd have a hard time convincing me that two amino acids that are found in everyones diet are dangerous when combined, which is a major fault in the logic of their arguement. Yet, the myths still persist.

The truth is aspartame is one of the most clinicaly studied chemicals in the world, with an overall excellent safety profile. The ADI (acceptable daily intake) for aspartame is 40mg/kg.

I dont think it is terribly bad for your health but the fact still remains that it has zero nutritional value. Call me a nazi but to have to always drink pop (diet or not) means that you are a weak minded fool! While the artificial sweeteners are not bad for you, they can promote sugar cravings. I think a bodybuilder should consume as little sugar/artifical sweeteners as possible.

Show some damn discipline + self-control and drink water. Always.

I am not talking about whether should you give in to the sugar craving or not, I myself dont even drink soda at all... but I am still confused, whether or not diet coke have anything bad in them that makes it bad to drink everyday? I've done research on many scientific sites stating that aspartame and artificial sugar although many myth surround it, there is not a single scientific research that says that it is dangerous... only speculation...

Bad argument. When it comes to chemistry, two substances, can create a completly different substance, with completly different characteristics and effects.

Every single study done on the link between aspartame and cancer has been performed on lab rats, not humans. Just recently a major study concluded showing that aspartame had no link to cancer. The study was conducted over years with older test subjects. It's being considered a major medical breakthrough that proves the artificial sweetener is safe. Maybe someone knows what I'm talking about and can post a link to the study.

A king may move a man, a father may claim a son. But remember that, even when those who move you be kings or men of power, your soul is in your keeping alone. When you stand before God you cannot say "but I was told by others to do thus" or that "virtue was not convenient at the time." This will not suffice. Remember that.

Its unbelievable the amount of people who believe everything they read on the internet, just because some guy on the internet says aspartame causes cancer doesnt mean its true, as there is no scientific proof what so ever.
