My girlfriend just asked me on the weekend if I would help her put togeather a meal plan. Shes about 5'10" and 165ish. Shed like to lose about 20 lbs. I was thinking maybe something like this:

    Meal 1:
    2 Scrambelled Eggs
    Fruit

    Meal 2:
    Tuna Sandwhich
    Fruit

    Meal 3:
    Whole Wheat Pasta

    Workout

    Meal 4:
    Chicken Breast
    Salad

    Meal 5:
Sandwhich with Lean Deli Meat on whole wheat bread
    Almonds

    Meal 6:
    Fruit

    Throughout the day drinking water.

As for a workout I was thinking a 3 day split

    Day 1:
    Back, Bi's, Cardio

    Day 2
    Chest, Tri's, Cardio

    Day 3
    Rest

    Day 4
    Legs, Cardio

    Day 5
    Rest

Any help or input would be greatly appreciated. I have only recently started working out and eating properly myself so I still dont know too much about it, let alone for females. Thanks so much for your help.

hey ryan! looks like a pretty good start. make sure she isnt dropping the cals to low. start with 100 below maint. and go from there. i dont know if you are interested so much in the calorie counting right now (and thats totally fine ) but heres a good tool to find BMR and stuff-- http://www.bmi-calculator.net/bmr-ca...mr-formula.php

just a few nitpicks on the diet-- i would sub a protein for the fruit for the last meal, like LF cottage cheese or a protein pudding cup or something. as for the b-fast, try to stay away from to many egg yolks, yadda yadda. egg beaters are a great substitute! if it turns out this diet isnt enough cals, it would be easy to throw in a protein shake or something like that. oh yah, and EAT MORE VEGGIES! im a veggie fanatic-- fresh celery, cauliflower, brussel sprouts, carrots, SPINACH--eat up! i say, veggies with every meal.

looks like a pretty good workout split, might want to add some shoulders and abs in there if she is up to that. also, she could certainly take cardio days on day 6 or 7 instead of on her lifting days. but im glad to see some rest days in there.

check out the links in my signature below for more examples of splits and workouts and basic training guidelines and diet stuff. also check out the stickies at the top of the female section for great information on women's training! best of luck,
