First Post.12 week transformation
I'm beginning the 12 week transformation today. the video one. http://www.bodybuilding.com/fun/12wktrans01.htm I have been following the diet since Monday. I mainly just want to being a healthy lifestyle so I can be around to see my grandkids one day. But of course I want to look good and feel good which I'm sure I will. Any advice out there? I have gotten my Bodyspace up and running as well as a MyPlate to track calories. I want to lose 50 lbs during this 12 week time. Is that too much? I have lost 50 pounds in 8 weeks before while playing high school football, but I did it by not eating anything and by running about 4 miles a day in football pads. I have since gained it all back and I attribute it to an unhealthy diet. But anyways Id love to hear anything from y'all.

you are 340, so loosing 50 pounds in 12 weeks is very doable.
It will require a lot of hard work, as you need to maintain a 4 pound a week drop in weight, which is very hard to keep up.
Diet is important, don't starve yourself.

You have a LONG way to go, therefore, no drastic measures - it will make progress harder when you plateau (not to mention you have to live with this for a while!)
I would break the fat loss up into two parts.
* From your current BF% to 'average-normal.' This is about changing your LIFESTYLE, and not a crash diet. Just be more active - walk instead of the car, stairs in place of lift etc... Form a solid, healthy diet and stick to it. Don't make it too restrictive - remember, at 340, it will probably take 1-2 years to complete this phase.
* from 'average-normal' to 'good-great shape.' This is where you worry about exact macros, rotating diet/workouts & more extreme measures etc.
Good luck!

Here is my 2 week progress pictures. The mirror picture is older of me at 380. The other is me at something less that 370. I haven't had a chance to hit the scales in a while. How do they look?

HELL yea dude, great progress so far. Your entire front is a completely different (smaller) shape.
I have a hard time believing that is only 10lb.

I am pretty sure it's more than 10 pounds as well. I haven't weighed since last Tuesday. The scale here at home doesn't weigh above 300 pounds haha. But if I lost as much as I did the first week, It would be more like a 20 pound loss already. I have been busting my ass trying to be more active. But I am starting to get used to it and I am loving the way my new diet makes me feel. Never in my life have I not consumed, soft drinks, fast food, processed crap, anything else unhealthy. And now I have cut all that crap out. I honestly don't know how I ever did it. I think if I were to eat a Macdonald's hamburger I would get sick. But, this is only the first 2 weeks, I can only imagine how it'll feel after 12.

Reps for your effort, dude!
Last January I was 6'3" 260 and at my lowest I got down to 194...though by mid-April I had already lost 45 lb. So 50lb in 3 months? Possible? Yes. Likely without really hurting yourself? Not as much. Still, you're big enough (as was I) that as long as you're lifting heavy, you're pretty safe from muscle loss.
So - cardio hard, lift hard, eat clean with enough cals (I'm guessing 2400 range at the low end) and you'll continue seeing rapid progress!
