IT will help with recovery, getting the blood flowing to the muscles that need repair. Which means nutrients flowning, a set or 2 is fine and wont do any harm

I've never understood why some people will go on about it interfering with chest work. Do they get around in a wheelchair between squat sessions to preserve their precious legs too?

I personally think pushups have helped my chest got stronger, I started doing them before bed about 5 weeks ago, I could only do sets of about 25-30. now I'm doing 500 (5 sets of 100). and my lifts have def. gone up. everyones body works differently try it out and see if it helps

It feels great to hit the concrete and pump out 100 quickfire pushups. And no it won't interfere with your chest work any more than running up a flight of stairs will interfere with your leg training. Not unless you're incredibly weak anyway.
