Late night cravings killing me! Suggestions?
Been cutting up for about 2 months. Lost 18 pounds and look much leaner. Have switched over from eating whatever to eating natural sources. Eat every 2-3 hours. 30-50 grams of protein per meal. Do 20 minutes of treadmill 4-5 days a week.
However...after about 9 o clock (i usually stay up til midnight or 1)...i get these cravings to eat everything in the fridge...its ridiculous...i know cardio shoots my metabolism way up and that may have something to do with it...
Any suggestions to stop or limit the cravings??? I can turn them down occasionally but it is HARD!!! and there is always food around me at night, its also after i get all my homework/workouts done...
maybe i should just go right to bed...haha
I am really good about my diet throughout the day...but the nights are KILLING me...

Fill up on low-cal fibrous veggies, like celery. Drink a quart of water. During my low-carb cut, I've found that taking some 5-HTP goes a long way to replenishing the serotonin that I suspect low-carb diets deplete.
Other than that, try diet soda.

+1 I like to eat celery and carrot sticks. I have a baggy in the fridge with them already cut-up, washed and peeled. All I have to do is grab a handfull and I am good to go. Also, something you may want to try (it helped me) is getting some of the flavored water from Wal-Mart (there brand) they have absolutely nothing in them but carbonation and flavor, no sodium, no cals, nothing. They are about $0.58 a bottle and they are 32oz bottles. They have helped me because it seems like I am drinking a soda but, I am really drinking water.

Try to buy 5 lbs. of apples, apples are not too expensive. Then cut them into squares like fruit-salad of apples, and put them in a big bowl or cooking pan in the refrigerator, eat a small bowl of that apple fruit-salad at night if you are real hungry. Just don't over eat them. Because i think apples are a lot less fattening than almonds, nuts and fatty snacks. Besides high protein snacks might block your sleep

I would move your main course (dinner) a little bit later than what it is already. I am assuming you have dinner around 7pm and then the cravings get out of control around 9:30-10pm. After dinner (2hrs after) when the cravings start, load up a protein shake 50-60grams and drink up. And self-control a little bit...I know its tough. Good luck bro!!!
