    how often to switch routine

Will my gains be slowed if I switch my routine too often?

Edit: I mean like every week...

perhaps. The body has been shown to adapt fully after 6-8 weeks, so that would be my criteria for periodisation

Some people swear by changing their routines on a set basis but i find changing variables and progressive loading far more valuable, in the past i've done routines for 5-6 months at a time and only changed because i wanted something fresh not because my results slowed, i think it's more a phsycological issue.

It's hard to come up w/a new routine that often. Maybe have 2 you alternate between or just alternate your grip width/grip motion (like curls). Also, some people like to use the same routine until they plateau on it or it becomes stale that way they get what use out of it they can before coming up w/a new one.

I never change my entire workout, I only change exercises every 8 weeks.
I had all the normal teenage fantasies..cars, girls, money, blow. Then my parents left for a week, and all my fantasies came true!

    Small changes? No.

    Changing entire program? Yes.

You need one or more of these: more food, more weight, more reps or more rest.
