Applied Nutriceuticals IGF-2

Im having surgery on two hernias in three weeks and i wanted to gain some extra mass and size before the surgery and being out three weeks. I was wondering what people thought of IGF-2. I want to run it for eight weeks, three weeks lifting the two recovery weeks from surgery and then for the three weeks following that. Does anyone know about the results of IGF-2 and if its ok to use it while resting and not working out?

Dont use it prior to any surgery and wait until you are healed to use it or it will not benefit you. I used it, love it but I stacked it with Neovar as well.

Its just not a good idea to use any products when you knowingly are having surgery. I had strength increases and some water retention with it, the water does subside when you go off.

Pav,
I gotta agree with Fit. Avoid supplements altogether when going into a surgery.

Don't let anyone try to sell you something in this situation.

I just went through this myself 9 weeks ago...

I suggest you keep your protein intake high and drink small amounts of Leucine or BCAA's with creatine inbetween meals.

Other supplements I used starting approx. 10 days after surgery included (daily doses):

8 grams of Fish Oil
8 caps of USPlabs Super Cissus Rx
4 caps of USPlabs Bolic
4 caps of DS Activate (Original) for first 4 weeks
4 caps of NOW Adam
2 servings of Emerald Balance

Obviously you should consult with your doctor before enbarking on a protocol such as what I've posted, but all in all I feel this stack helped quite a bit.

Best of Luck

How long was it til u were back to normal weights again after surgery and full activity? what kind of hernias did u have? Previous to the hernia i was taking 9 grams of AAKG, 10 grams of creatine, 10 grams BCAA, 8 grams Taurine, 4 grams citriline malate, 2 grams acetyl l carnitine, 25o mg lipoic acid, 15 grams of glutamine and the essential vitamins. hows that sound?

I had open surgery to repair a right inguinal hernia, they put mesh in... I probably could have started back last week if I wanted. Life is busy this time of year and I'm an all or nothing kind of guy. Plus, 80% of those that have had similar operations have said they should have waited longer to recover. My official return will be after this years Arnold.

I would drop AAKG personally and space out tha rest in smaller amounts to help create a more favorable environment thoughout tha day. Also, it would be wise IMO to bump up your healthy fats as well.

How are you having it done? I wouldn't go all out at two weeks even if it's with a scope, but to each their own I suppose.

AAKG can increase free radical damage significantly if taken in large amounts and will be counter productive to what you are trying to do.

How did you know you had an inguinal hernia? I mean, what did it feel like?

the inguinal hernia is a lump of tissue right by where my lower right abdomen meets up with my hip. Its not visible or painful and the only way i noticed it was looking for other hernias after i was diagnosed with the umbilcal one.

I felt some real good pumps while taking AAKG and increased vascularity, much better than regular arginine. Whats this free radical stuff and why is it gonna cause damage?

Initially I felt some slight weakness/mild pain/dragging sensation when coughing, eating a large meal or going heavy on a few lifts. At tha time I had an appreciable amount of bodyfat on me and nothing was visible. I had it checkout by my family doctor and he didn't find anything either. He just said that it could be due to having slightly larger abdominal muscle on my right side due to tha CP... made sense to me. I continued lifting for probably about 6 months, at which time I decided to diet down and snap few new pics to be hosted on our site. As I stated to get lean, I knew something was wrong... you could see tha bulge. There for a time I kept pushing it back in as it would pop out. Ultimately I knew it had to be surgically fixed.

It looked something like what is shown below:
