I was going to say - as interesting as that statistic is, I'd like to see how those businesses actualy compare to male-owned businesses. A person can stand two feet tall and be growing quickly, but that doesn't mean they are any big deal next to a 10' tall person.

Yet at the end of the day, white, middle class males still have a larger house, more nutritious food, and a safer neighborhood than black, low class females. By no means am I an advocate of affirmative action, but the 'advantages' offered to minorities don't come close to filling the gap.

The minorities I know who do not define their "master status" as a minority (ie, they are an ambitious person first) do incredibly well.
This country has a 10 trillion dollar a year GDP. If anyone doesn't need handouts in the world...it's Americans.

Either you're missing my point or I'm misunderstanding what the OP is saying.

1.) Of course correlation does not imply causation. I wasn't suggesting that.
2.) I'm not saying that minorities can't do well.
3.) I'm not saying that minorities should receive handouts.

The OP said "this group of people have it the worst". He then went on to list the advantages offered to minorities. What I gather from that is that he's saying: as a result of affirmative action and minority-slanted funds and programs, the 'disadvantaged' groups now have it better than the 'advantaged' groups. That's not true.

It's true that we shouldn't give them handouts, and it's true that it's not 'the white man' holding them down. However, none of these branch arguments countermand the point of my original response to this thread: regardless of minority scholarships, section-8 determined by race or gender, etc., white, middle class males remain middle class while minorities merely become an augmented and assisted but still lesser middle class.

Whether that should be rectified isn't what I'm getting at.
