    squats vs lunges

    For a runner I would say that weighted lunges are more important than squats. agree?

    Highly disagree. Both are very beneficial exercises, but squats should be a staple to a lower body workout most of the time.

    not to beat a dead horse but I agree that lunges are supplemental to squats but if just one is used I like squats better.

    Single leg work can be very instrumental in targeting the weaknesses but remember, for consistent, significant strength gains you gotta do the heavy lifts on both feet. It hits the hips more so than the unlilateral work which usually is more isolation focused.

    squats > lunges, but lunges are great for supplementary work but shouldnt be what your focus is on

    I disagree. Lunges are an exaggerated running motion, so therefore I feel they are more specific for running.
