Protein supp. : how many times a day ?

Hi !

I want to know how many times a day I should take protein shakes.
I workout 5 times a week, 2 hours each. I mainly workout to compete in stromgan competitions and for football.

I'm currently taking one serving of protein supplement after each training. I also try to take as much protein in my normal meals as I can. I also eat cottage cheese before bed ( I've been told it was excellent )

Any criticism ?

Thanks a lot

5 times a week for 2 hours... is that 2 high intensity hours? If so you may want to cut back, that's probably overtraining for most people.

As far as how much protein powder you SHOULD take, well, I say it is once, after workouts. Ideally we get all of our protein from real food, but if you cannot manage that, a protein shake once or twice a day is perfectly acceptable.

Thanks very much for the reply.

I'd say yes my 2 hours are pretty much full but in those 2 hours there is about 30 mins for cardio and stretching. I also take a good break between different exercices.

As for the protein intake, as I said I try to have them from regular food. I only take one shake after each training.

Thanks again
