Best Hamstring exercises?
I did some good-mornings a few days ago and I was sore the next few days... I started with knees bent, but when I did them with straight legs, I felt my hamstrings really kick in.... Do many of you perform stiff-legged good mornings? I know lots do stiff-legged deadlifts, but what about good mornings? Also, what are some of yall's fav. hamstring exercises that get them cut?
One unique exercise I will do is standing knee curls with an ankle cuff attached on a pulley.. I will curl the weight, then as my leg is on the ground and im standing, I will lean back and sit into a hamstring stretch... I do this between reps... I find it helps accentuate the lines and cuts in my hams and it will help stimulate more development back there... Any other strategies?

I use the Squat Press for hams(great machine), I also squat on ham/glute day. My favorite exercise is probably doing a split squat on the smith machine...ham curls and stiff-legged deads are always good too.
The first time you do those split squats though, its going to feel like someone took a baseball bat to your hams/glutes. AWESOME.

Hammies
Squats definately. The reason squats work your hamstrings is because if you go really deep your quad gets elongated and cannot work enough to bring you back up, therefore your hamstrings have to do a lot of work.
I would also put some seated leg curls and lying leg curls to kill them off.

Try this one one for size...garaunteed to make you blow chunks:
Squat Press : 4 sets of 12
Split Squat : 4 sets of 10(each leg)
superset
Squat : 4 sets of 10
Prone Leg Curl : 4 sets of 15
OUCH!

it's not a special set up... just a lat pull down machine and pull a flat bench up perpendicular with it

The way our lat pulldown machine is setup, the bench that is part of the machine sticks out in such a way that I am not sure I can pull a flat bench into the right spot...I'll give it a try though, what the hell.

Layne--those are pretty damn impressive!!! I use the seated calf machine for mine--same thing but my knees are so close togeter, I always get a sharp pain in them. I wish my gym had the actual piece of equipment though. Guess I'll just grow a pair and start including those in my ham days again. Thx and again, very impressive.

The
best hamstring exercise in my opinion without a doubt are Dumbbell leg curls on a flat bench. I love these because I don't have to go too heavy to get a good stretch and I cannot cheat.
