Some notable determinants are:

An example of an individual with prominent lips (favored in many cultures), and thick, lustrous hair (Actress Angelina Jolie).Symmetry of features
Large, widely spaced eyes (seen as youthful)
Clear complexion; "healthy" skin (youthful)
Contrasting colors and features: such as well-delineated eyebrows, dark lashes, dark eyes/light face or light eyes/dark face
Symmetrical, white teeth: (non-universal; see Ohaguro)
Cheek dimple(s)
Prominent zygomas (cheek bones), especially with a blush of color
Large breasts (non-universal; various cultures, past and present, do not prefer large breasts)
Thick, vivid lips (youthful)
Upturned nose (seen as cute)
Ovoid face, small chin, lack of facial hair
Thick,"healthy" hair (youthful)
High forehead

This list refers to females, you can see somewhat of a pattern as well which applies to males, but to another effect.

However, what is an "upturned nose"? It means that you can see a bit of a person's nostrils when looking straight, right? Does that mean an upturned nose is attractive?

an upturned nose just means the point of the nose is tilted up. Like the edge that the nostrils come out of. Instead of being pointed down like a "jewish" nose, it's pointed straight or pointed up.

I concur. But some girls seem to like it on guys. I think a long straight nose looks better than a little fat upturned nose, oh well.

I think that is just an example of a fatty with a lack of a jawline at all.

I'm Asian anyhow, and I can see a bit of my nostrils on from straight view. (pictures)

bb.com people have called me ugly and made fun of my hair, so I assume they must all be studs, so nothing I'm not expecting.

It's not that I actually care who's all pretty and who's not, but I'd like to prove to people like mick123 that they cannot make generalizations on people based on race.

IMO asians and blacks have flatter noses

southern europeans and arabs have noses that are too big. just my opinion.

anglo celtics have nicer shaped noses.

im sure ruthless can find a way to show how the evil white man is to blame for the different nose shapes.

how predictable ruthless. ill make a correction though upturned nose on chicks is alright IMO mainly hot asian chicks though. not on guys IMO.

anyway gays are cool they are way more trustworthy and clean than most people as long as they dont put the gay act/accent on all the time.

True. Many Asians and whites, and even some blacks (particularly those that are of non-Bantu stock or mixed) have upturned noses. If one considers Semites (Jews and Arabs) white, then that is an example of whites that do not have upturned noses. I definitely agree that one really can't generalize like that.
