    hey there

I've taken many athletic training courses in college, we were taught that sleeves really don't do crap!

I learned this way of tapping shin-splints.... we called it MTSS taping, medial tibial stress syndrome taping, b/c thats what shin splits REALLY is.

You take typical athletic tape, u know that about 2 inch white tape. and starting at the top of the shin on the lateral side (outside) pull with the tape at a very small angle down the leg(towards the medial side). u repeat this about 6times....more perhaps if u have really long legs. this taping is done in a circumferential pattern down the lower leg.

I hope this helps....I'm sorry if it's confusing to u!

That taping may assist with 1 cause of shin splints, however "shin splints" covers a number of different pathologies.

Rather that just opting for symptomatic relief, why not try and get to the cause of the problem and solve it!
    The science is out there!

    thats very true!

they are a difficult thing to deal with, honestly ice-rest-message-and-stretch is probably going to be ur most effective cure.... taping, or a sleeve, or nething to that extent isn't as good as the RICE tx.... (rest, ice, compression, and elevation) however u probably don't need elevation with this injury!
