    What muscles are used in tug of war?

    Hi guys

    I would be taking part in an inter-departmental tug of war competition in 3 weeks time.

    Am I right to say the entire back,the entire leg(quads+hams+calves) are used in this movement? What else?
    My goal when I come in everyday is to make sure if somebody beats me,it is not because they outwork me. ~Layne Norton.

    I would say the entire leg as well as your core to keep stability (lower back and abdominals). The movement is also alot like a row so i would hazard saying your lats and even your biceps to an extent.

    yep cause as the rope is pulled from you, you activate the chest and tri's to stop the pulling motion (like a bench negative) and then the lats back come into play as you try and pull it back. i really don't feel like breaking this whole process down, but again i will say "THE WHOLE" damn body is used. nothing is left out.
