Hey, has anyone in here ever heard of Designer Whey? It's a protein supplement. I had my dad go into town and purchase me the Universal Real Gain and I told him to get Universal Whey Protein also. Man got Designer Whey protein with 90 calories and 18 grams of protein per serving. I am taking a Weider protein shake before and after my workouts, currently, but wanted to switch to Universal because of the good reviews it got on these forums.
Is there anyone out there, who's been on Designer Whey? And was specifically bulking. Also, has anyone ever been on Weider's protein shake? It gives good calories but I don't like the taste that much. I mean, it's not bad, but it's not good either. Oh yeah, and the protein is 52 grams per 1010 calories serving, that's about 1 1/2 cups along with 1 1/2 cups of milk.
Anyways, looking forward to anyone who can provide me information on these supplements. I want to see if my dad should just go return the one he purchased and try to get me another one, and if so, which one do you guys recommend? Or should I just let him go get the Weider's protein shake and done with that?

At one time, Designer Whey was THE whey shake. The first whey shake to hit market, if I remember correctly. 1993 I think. It's a fine product, it just has a smaller scoop than most others, thus, the 90cals and only 18g protein. You won't get any better results with ON if you ask me. Just use 1.5 scoops to up the amount of protein. The taste is kinda nasty though.
I'd be more concerned with using a Weider product if I were you. There are a lot of better "weight gainers" out there. Isopure Mass; CytoGainer; Up Your Mass to name a few.
Use the Designer Whey since your pops got it for you then go get something else when it's done. And ANY whey shake can become a weight gainer with enough added ingredients (oats, fruit, plain yogurt, pb, milk). Be creative.

Ok. What's wrong with the Weider's protein shake? I don't need to worry about a weight gainer, as I have the Universal Real Gain. But I am going to use between meals and before bed. The protein shake is for before and after my workout, of course. But, why not the Weider's? Also, I am not sure how much protein supplements this local store has. I am outside the U.S at the moment, and they generally don't pack that much, variety, of supplements. I was just in luck to get the Universal Real Gain.

Designer Whey = Normal Whey Protein...
If you want more calories or more protein for your bulk, you can take more than one serving . Or you can add milk to it.
Your dad did a fine job picking out whey protein... except that Designer Whey doesn't taste too good.Team HALEO

Yeah I know, I can take more servings. But it's got 11 servings per bottle. It's a small a$$ bottle, so I need it changed anyways. I told him to go exchange it for Optimum Nutrition 100% Whey Protein or get the Universal Whey Protein. But why is Weider's protein not a good option? I am taking it right now, it's an okay taste. Not only that, but I get about 21 servings, with 1010 calories per serving and 52 grams of protein. And it's about the same size as the Designer Whey protein my dad got, so it's a better value.
