How do you guys stay motivated?
I know this has probably been discussed thousands of times but I'm really curious as to how you guys TRULY stay motivated. I'm mean, no B.S., don't preach, don't give corny lines, I mean honestly, how do you guys do it? What's your drive or what do you do, to keep yourself focused, motivated, and consistant?
With such a busy life, it's hard for me to focus enough energy or time into my diet and workouts. So I find my only motivation is to keep my mind in workout mode... try to keep myself focused. I come here and lurk, read books about bodybuilding, go to other websites about bodybuilding, watch sports, watch fitness related tv shows...

Its just kind of a way of life for me. I used to be into drugs, joined the military cause i was sick of my life, and started going to the gym.. Its like a "me" time and its the best feeling in the world, better than any drug i could ever do. So im addicted to it and feel bad even if i take 1 day off a week. keeps me motivated to eat healthy and not really drink at all. I like looking in the mirror and seeing a fit guy. (no homo)

It's really fun. I've stopped playing video games completely thanks to weightlifting. Not sure if that's a good thing.
I've always been really skinny and weak, 160 might not seem like much to anyone, but to me it's ****ING HUGE. Getting stronger, faster, and fitter is awesome.

The results are my motivation.
After being overweight my whole life I am taking control and doing what I need to do to achieve my goals. I don't have an ideal body type or have someone I want to look like. I just want to improve the way I look and feel because thats all I can do.

I don't directly anyway , you know how some people cant wait to come home so they can go out and run hockey or soccer , I cant wait for class to end so I can hit the gym. This is just my sport I guess , learn to enjoy it because you can only be motivated for so long.

seeing natural dudes my age that are bigger than me is a huge motivator. another one is girlfriends gone bad or when they cheat on you with someother dude half your size is another big motivator, makes you just wanna get bigger to beat his a** into the ground. music is another, tryin new supps, bad day at work, little people telling you off. theres lots of things that keep the flame goin........

This may sound stupid but when you are in good shape it almost seems as if people treat you better. Most guys don't workout, if you get into shape and build muscle many people will be very envious of you. You feel better when you go out with your buddies and you're the biggest guy out of the group. You notice that you get way more attention from girls too. Thats always been my motivation.

I have a mirror and it constantly disappoints me.
What else is there to motivation?

Nicely said. Reps.
Plus, you can't say you have complete control of a lot of things in your life. If you like a girl, you don't control how she feels about you. If you write an essay, the person reading it is subjective, and might think it sucks even though you don't. If you bust your ass off at work, your boss might not like you and you will never get promoted regardless.
This is one of the only things I feel that I have 100% control of. What you look like is directly affected by how much you bust your ass off at the gym and your diet.

x2 on the total control over my body. anything i've set my mind to with regards to bodybuilding i have steadily acheived so far. also, i love the environment at the gym, and like being there and finding some excuse to hang around after my lift.
