Yep, had acne for 6 years.. 2 doses of fullbown accutane did not help, my problems were too complicated so I had to find my own regimen.. Pretty much have spent the last 2 years reading every article on the planet about acne and trying every product available until I got clear.
Blackheads, oily skin, diet, redness, dryness, pustules, white heads, eczemas, dermatitis, zysts, accutane, comadones.. ask away, but keep your descriptions VERY DETAILED. Don't write "I have pimples on my jaw, what to do?" I need to know exactly what they look like etc and what you think triggers them
I'll help you find which products work for your skintype and which wont, I've helped a lot of people on another board so I thought I might be of some assistance here.
And please don't turn this thread into "Guys just use proactive/otherlameproduct, it totally works!11" because it doesn't work that way.. There are hundreds, probably thousands of different skin types and different reasons for acne.

I get acne, not too severe.
I use Benzoyl Peroxide 10% 2 times a day morning and night, along with a simple face cleaner during the mid day. If I have it bad, I try to use neutrogena spot treatment Salyic Acid (sp?). I try to keep my face clean yet try not to touch my pimples. They are the ones on the side of my jawlines beneath the ear and they seem to never go away. Pop them and white puss comes out obviously... any suggestions?

It's loooooong process, like I said my problems were very complicated thus the regimen is very complicated.
I start exfoliating my whole face with a baby brush or a razor, then I apply castor oil and massage my skin(this clears out the pores and kills bacteria). Then I steam my face with a warm hand towel to open up my pores. Then I wipe it off. Then I apply vita oil which is used as a buffer and a moisturizer. Thennnnnnnn I apply a thick mask of mandelic acid which cleans the pores and stimulates cell regrowth.
15 minutes later I clean all that off and end it with a nice mandelic toner.

I have bacne and the occasional breakout on my cheeks. I use Minocin 100mg as well as Differin but I can't get rid of my bacne and chestne for that matter. I don't use soap around affected areas on back and chest because I heard that makes it worse, but I do use unscented lathers (sensitive skin). I also have a lot of blackheads in the face area. What do I do OP?

I've took 2 full dose of accutane too. It worked bu partial came on my chin a few months later. Now my chin is cleared up but i have acne on the forehead. I tried lots of thing to clear it up, (salicylil acid, benzoil peroxyde). Didn't work. My forehead skin is a little bit oily but the rest of my skin is dry/normal. I'M 21 and getting pretty pissed at still getting some facial acne. No acne on back or elsewhere though. Please help.

i had severe cystic acne, bacne and chestne. took accutane and it cleared up completely. after about 3 months or so off it though my acne came back although not as severe (and hardly any on my back or chest now). i use BP gel and it keeps it under control. have you been to www.acne.org ?i'm a real boy!

I don't ever want to be stuck on a 'regimine' for the rest of my life. Do you (or anyone in this thread) believe its possible to cure acne with drugs?
My own wisdom: from personal experience
Doxycyline - works great in the beginning, loses effectiveness after a few months, acne comes back hard
Benzoyl Peroxide - works adequately if used every day, inconvenient, expensive, wrecks clothing
High dose vitamin B5 - did nothing, very inconvenient
Apple Cider Vinegar - not sure, I didn't try when my acne was bad
Dairy-free diet - tried for a month, no change
I'm on day 3 of Accutane right now.
