Need help with my fish oils (reps)

I bought Spring Valley Omega 3 Fish oil. It has 1000mg of fish oils and it says that 180mg is EPA and 120mg is DHA per cap. I take 2 caps with my multi in the morning. Is this a good amount of fish oils? and is this a good product or should I be getting more EPA and DHA. All help is appreciated.

My trainer(ish) who is going for his IFBB pro card suggested taking in about 1200mg daily of fish oil for 12 weeks out of competition. Too much fish oil can be bad, but you need to take a buttload to see detrimental effects. Try about 1g a day. So about 10 caps or so. 2 with every meal is plenty.

My 2 cents.

That's fine. You can take 2 in the morning with breakfast and 2 at night with your dinner. Anywhere between 500mg to a 1 gram EPA/DHA is decent.

Read your label, be sure that its says something to the effect "molecularly distilled" or it may contain mercury. Otherwise, looks good IMO take 1-2 w/ each meal.

each


How many should I take ideally a day. It says 3 - but should I take more?

It really all depends if you want to use it to get good fat loss benefits out of it. I believe some people that take fish oil to try to loss a little bit of extra weight take in 2-3grams combined of epa/dha...

I've been taking about 3g combined lately which is 2 gelcaps taken during 4 of my meals. (of course avoid the times around pre and post workout)

It say's it is 99.99% purified fish oil so im guessing it is molecularly distilled when they say purified. It say's it is 1000mg of fish oils per cap. What is the rest of the fishoils if it is 180mg epa and 120mg dha and is that safe for me to comsume 2 more before bed. So 4000mg of fish oils in total; is that safe?

EPA and DHA are just 2 of the many different fatty acids that constitute "fish oil" (just like most oils are a mix of different fatty acids).

The ones that are truly "molecularly distilled" will usually emphasize that they are "molecularly distilled" ...

Anyhow, 4 caps would be safe (1200 mg EPA+DHA) from a dosage standpoint.
