Procrastination: Putting Things off Until Later
I was gonna write this later, but that would in itself be procrastination.
It has been said that
"Procrastination is the thief of time."
Well, how do you find and catch this thief, and secondly, how do you kick his a$$?
I feel in some ways, that I am wasting away my time on this planet, because I have things to do, but can't seem to do it. And this causes me to suffer greatly, and it only makes me procrastinate more. Like a vicious cycle. How do you break the cycle, and stop the insanity?
I don't play EverCrack, and I am not in denial. I procrastinate, and I need out, I need to change and get better. I won't tell you that, if I did in fact play EverCrack, that I can quit anytime, but I won't for another year and a half. How do you stop procrastination from overtaking your life?

how about doing the stuff you need to do instead of thinking and writing on procrastination? would probably make a good start. in the end, it's just about forcing yourself to act, instead of thinking on how you never do something.

i suffer from procrastination its tough to fix, but in my oppinion its waiting to do something until you feel like its the perfect time to do so.
like waiting till the perfect time to go workout instead of when you think you should be...
and then when that perfect time doesnt come your overwhelmed by the amount of work you have to do.

It's just practice.
Pick something, anything and just start doing it. No thinking allowed.

Your aim for this week should be to become a professional procrastinator next week.

you need to sit down, and think real hard about what your doing in your life, why your doing what your doing, what you WANT to be doing.
procrastination is the result of no motivation and drive. lack of ambtion and balls. its a huge weakness, filling your life with crap you dont really want to be doing, but are.
procrastinators dont know whats important to them, and therefore dont know worth.

There used to be this weird band called 'They Might Be Giants'... At the end of one of their songs they keep repeating- "now it's over, I'm dead and I haven't done anything that I want... Or I'm still alive and there's nothing I want to do." This thread reminds me of that for some reason.
The worste part is when you work your ass off for years, and it only leads you to a life of procrastination.

they also had a song where the chorus kept repeating "Istanbul was once Constantinople". I have no idea how or why I remember that, but I just do.
Back on topic - I procrastinate a lot when it comes to school work. I should be researching a paper I have to do, but it's do in a month, so I'll just put that off to next weekend (so I say). I keep putting off the fact that I should really update my resume and get it out there so I can hopefully leave my job for something better. I'll do that someday soon (I've been saying that for a long time). It sucks, big time.

I got exams and am finding it hard not to procrastinate.....its a ****ty feeling..
However, i am proud that i am making some headway at least. The exam is two months away, and i'm telling you all now that might not be enough time to prepare....this is a solid exam....
But i'm gonna destroy this ****er like it aint no thing....

I just had to do a health project that required us to change one thing we don't like about ourselves. I chose to stop procrastonating. We had the assignment for two weeks, I did it all 2 periods before health on the due day. How ironic...I guess I didn't succeed

This may sound like something a hippy would say, but the first step towards any change is action. You can sit there and think about it all day, visualize that you will change, try to change your attitude etc., and that is all good, but if you don't just get up and take action in that direction you might as well not even bother.

Set short term goals - write them down, including the exact time when you want them finished by - then make yourself meet those goals at all costs. You just have to convince yourself that getting things out of the way now instead of later will make you a happier person.
Procrastination has caused a ****load of unnecessary stress in my life and also hurt my relationships - the sooner you break the habit, the happier you'll be.

We all procrastinate. So long as it is not related to depression or some serious issues there is no problems.
If it was worth doing I am sure you would have done it anyway. I am known as the worst procrastinator there is but I have never been late once for a hiking trip lol
