    Weighing Chicken Breast...cooked or frozen?

    Yeah, this is stupid, i know. Just to make sure though, when the nutrition facts say 4oz of chicken breast is one serving, that means when its weighed AFTER being cooked right?

    Depends on what the packaging says. If it doesn't specify, then it is probably UNCOOKED weight since depending on how it is cooked the end weight will vary.

    As a general rule of thumb, meat products are usually nutritionally assessed before they are cooked. In general, meats will decrease by about 1 ounce after they are cooked.

    On the other hand, starchy carbs (rice, potatoes, etc.) are measured and weighed after they're cooked. For example, if you want 5 ounces of potatoes, weigh out the 5 ounces after it's cooked.
