Anyone know how to password crack a hotmail email?

This ****in 14 year old hacker found out my hotmail email and cracked the password to it with a program and changed it on me, during the process stole about 400$ worth of things from me.

Can a lawsuit be filed against him or can anyone help me get my hotmail account back?

But since he stole stuff from you I'd contact your credit card company. They are usually pretty awesome when it comes to fraud.

Yeah, he changed my secruity questions so I can't retrieve it.

I am a co-owner of an online gaming service, which he stole other peoples money, stealing my services and profit.

I highly doubt a 14 year old is writing his own password cracking programs that can be used on hotmail. But if he is, your screwed. He obviously knows what he's doing and you won't catch him.

you cant make a program that will generate random hotmail passwords.. i really doubt it, he prob got it through social engineering.

if you can prove that he took the money from you and stole your identity you can report him to the police & fbi. i don't know if proving the money alone (without identity) would be enough though because he'd have to do a steal a certain amount of money for them to take the case.

Easy to guess or easy to crack password. A simple dictionary file usuallyonly a couple megs can crack about any password in a very short period of time.

Exactly.. It's quite sad that people cant remember easy password like Joanne123, I mean seriously, wtf. Use something complex, especially if you are protecting something of value.

Probably used a dictionary cracker && your password must have been weak.

Either way, you should contact MS and explain. Also, you should log in to all your other accounts and change the e-mail (amazon, ebay, paypal, etc) before he really f*cks you up.

Chances are the password was weak. As mentioned before, dictionary files will crack most users passwords.

Best thing you can do is use strong passwords, and if you can't remember them, write them down. The often repeated advice of never writing it down is wrong.

Obviously the threat for the OP was attacks from people that didn't know him. It was remote attacks. Writing the password down and storing it in your home is much safer than using weak passwords. I don't fear local attacks at home. If someone breaks into my house, there is much more they can do than try and find a password.
