i was not implying, nor did i say that creatine was a sweetener.
i was merely stating that whey protein supplementation in itself has been corrupted, henceforth, apparently taken over by authority of the fda and ftc.the whey supplement suppliers have obviously sold themelves out or at least a good portion of themselves over to the corrupt fda and ftc and decided to allow themselves to be a subsidary/sellout to those scumbags.

and thus,in clarifying myself,i must hereby proclaim that............
whey can never again be a staple of my strength support based supplementation because of those damn man made sweeteners.
i shall now shun the former beloved whey supplementation and replace it with continous year round creatine/weight gainer usage/rotation and cycle the two of them back and forth 2 months at a time.Last edited by thor93; 02-15-2008 at 08:29 PM.

What are you going on about? One of the main issues associated with the sports supplement industry is that it is not regulated by the FDA.
Unless you have some rare, underlying medical condition(which would have been diagnosed at birth), aspartame isn't gonna affect you negatively in any way(assuming that is the argument you are trying to make).

Phew. What an intense debate. While in general I would say that putting anything man made into your body is not the best idea, it's not the worst thing you can do to yourself either. If you can stick to only putting organic, natural occurring substances into your body, then you are probably off, but the negative side effects off man made substances are generally either unproven or over stated.
Aspertame is a great example. It does contain neuro-toxins, but the doses are rediculously low. Phenlyalanine (which makes up 50% of aspertame), for example is a supposed neuro-toxin, but at doses (supposedly) exceeding 3g per day. In a 500ml diet coke there is about 50mg of phenlyalanine, meaning you need to drink 30 liters (7.5 gallons) of diet coke to reach the minimum believed toxic dosage of phenlyalanine.
And yes, phenlyalanine is an EAA, and is needed to produce neuro-transmitters that are essential to our survival. I would not say aspertame is good for you, but it definitely has gotten a bad rap.

i can only wish i were high.truth be known,i am actually, rather painfully aware, awake and sober to the brutal realities of the greed based corruption that is ever present in the authoratative governing bodies of society, especially the authorities on what gets approved and encouraged no less, for human bodily consumption.*Addicted to swimming during the summer crew.*

Either you're just a board troll or you're seriously mentally handicapped.
Also, the main ingredient in aspartame is pheylalanine, which is an amino acid (and therefore is hardly "man made"). Moreover, unless you have PKU, which is a fairly rare condition, it will have no effect on you.
You have absolutely no understanding of what the FDA and FTC are and what they do in relation to the dietary supplement industry.
There's a ton of options as far as whey protein supplementation goes without artificial sweeteners. Many are flavored with Stevia, which is a natural sweetener sourced from a plant, and there are companies like True Protein that sell protein that is complete unflavored.
I work for the largest exclusively natural and organic food retailer in the world. You seem to have very little idea as to what actually constitutes "natural," nor do you seem to have a genuine understanding of the actual benefits of consuming natural and organic foods. You're probably one of the nutballs that considers canola oil to be "genetically engineered."
Moreover, your post makes no sense. Creatine has nothing to do with protein. It is hardly an alternative to whey protein supplementation. You also talk about "weight gainers" as if they are a whey protein alternative. Not only do these products have a different purpose than protein supplementation, but they are generally just some sort of protein powder (usually whey) combined with a bunch of carbohydrates (usually maltodextrin). They are just as likely to contain artificial colors, flavors, and sweeteners as any protein powder.
In short, you have no freakin' idea what you're talking about and need to do some research before you start spouting off nonsense. You're not helping anyone. You're not educating anyone or "spreading the truth." You're succeeding only in making yourself look like an idiot. When you LOSE weight, your pants will be LOOSE.
There is no "E" in RIDICULOUS.
THEY'RE going to THEIR house, which is over THERE.
YOU'RE going to the gym for YOUR workout.

if you've seen my bodyspace or my youtube channel i think you'd seriously take back calling me a troll or mentally handicapped....oh,...i went on you're bodyspace expecting to see someone that looks at least as good as me but.....,nada.........(sigh)........no photos.
the point i'm making here is that you definately have no right to haul off
such ignorant remarks, especially when you yourself have zero photos of yourself to back yourself up as some kind of proffessed expert you seem to be claiming yourself as....and you are not only insinuating that i'm some kind of a clueless baffoon, but you add on all of those very unneccessary verbal low blows.very classless i think,in any intelligent and dignified man's book.
i never said that creatine was a form of protein, nor did i say that i thought taking weight gainer was healthy.i was merely pointing out that i'd rather take creatine for strength these days than you're common popular whey brand powder, which they sell at wal-mart by the way.and with that said, while scoping out the supplement selection at wal-mart,i noticed that the weight gainer was sweetened with fructose as oppossed to the whey powders being tainted with either sucralose or aspartame.
so,with that,i concluded that if i absolutely had to pick one of them,i would go with the weight gainer, even if ever so relectantly so,being that i've never really ever became a true fan or advocate of weight gainers of any sort.in other posts i've allready concluded that, ultimately, i will not bother with weight gainers due to them being grossly overpriced as well as grossly oversweetened.i plan to stick with creatine, chromuim piccohlinate, zinc, vitamin c,glucosomine, and then, fish oil tablets, when i can afford them.*Addicted to swimming during the summer crew.*
