This is one of his more underrated Olympia showings. I still don't know if he should have been Ronnie (who wasn't THAT off), but it was definitely a lot better than the following year.

He was massive in 06. Looked very full, lean but holding a bit of water or something, but still one of his best showings. 09 was better imo.. smaller but the conditioning was worth it, and his best.
If he was just a little bit leaner/less watery in 2006, I think it would have been his best showing ever.
Ronnie was holding water in prejudging in 2006 but looked better in the finals. I agree, Ronnie wasn't that off as people like to think in 2006. Was also one of Ronnie's heaviest showings.Last edited by KevinSorbo; 06-26-2017 at 08:29 AM.

Jay looked his best in 2001 imo. He was smaller but his physique definitely flowed better. 2006 was definitely underrated, I always thought 2005 was better but he got 2nd cause Ronnie was too good that year. In 2006 Ronnie showed up with a slightly atrophied lat and tricep and bloated in prejudging. He fixed it for the finals but it was too late. The powers that be decided that they wanted a new champ, still I feel he should have won that year. In 2007, he shouldn't have even placed 6th but he was Mr.O in 2006.

Jay should not have beaten Ronnie at the 2006 O. Ronnie was holding water at the morning pre-judging. At the night show Ronnie was totally peeled and far superior to Jay. It was a political decision to let Jay win. In 07 Jay shouldn't of even been in the top 6, yet he won.
No bodybuilder in the history of the sport has been as politically lucky as Jay Cutler. It's because he was very good for business. A good looking white male, who was relatively articulate.
Jay is the worlds most charismatic refrigerator. The stupidest thing a bodybuilder can ever do, is to keep trying to look like a bodybuilder when he gets older. If he does, he'll wind up with "RIP" after his name.

I like 2009, and the judges have to reward the transformation/comeback in some way, but by that point Jay's lower back started to look just... off. In the RLS it was like his lats were receding up his back. He suffered from this until he retired. His BDB was still thick, but his RLS kept getting worse. In 2013 you can see the end result of what I mean:

Great pics there^ I've always been impressed with Jay's ability to have a flat, or even vacuumed waist no matter how big he was, in the worst era of distention.
Here are the prejudging vids.. They both are very full and lean but holding a little water, I still see Ronnie edging out Jay here, I think they were comparing Ronnie to previous Ronnie. It's close imo, but Ronnie dried out a lot for the finals and looked better.
If Jay was just a little leaner/holding less water but still full, it would've been a clear win for him, his best ever and one of the best of all time I think. I almost see this as better than 2009 for the size and thickness alone.

To me his best years was 2001, 2003, 2004 and 2009.
In 2001, 2003, 2004 hes back was on another level, crazy width and thickness and great details.
Esp in 2003 and 2004.
Forget pictures, Jay was never looking good on Pic:

Just look at his back from 1.24 to 1.40, it`s just crazy good.
And in this year hes body looks fresh.
