I've heard there's a chance my Giants could deal Cain for Fielder and Hardy in the off season. Anyone else hear anything similar?

I haven't but Hardy AND Fielder seems like a lot for a starting pitcher.

Cameron today: 0-4 with FOUR strikeouts and 4 men left on base.

mets play cubs 4 marlins 3

my guess is that the mets will win 2/4 against cubs and 1/3 to marlins

we just need to freakin win games

Brewers #1 problem.

We have power hitters with absolutely no contact hitters... We lead the league in the hundreds with men left on base, why? Simply because we have guys swinging for the fence everytime, rather than for a hit.

That is one reason I didn't understand bringing Mike Cameron in when Tony Gywnn Jr. would have been much cheaper and wouldn't strikeout 50% of the time. The money they could have saved with Gywnn could have been spent on their bullpen. Everyone except Doug Melvin knew that Gagne was washed up.

Gagne wasn't a Mevlin move, it was an ownership move. Remember, our owner grew up a Dodge and Yankee fan and wanted to open up the payroll.

Gywnn on the other hand can't hit lefties.

Why not just sign Cordero then if he wasn't afraid to spend money?

Kapler could have been platooned with Gywnn. Kapler strikes out less than Cameron. Cameron was said to be gold glove quality but he had his share of mistakes out there.

If the staff could teach some of our quicker players (Weeks, Gywnn, etc.) how to lay down a bunt, I'm sure that they would get some infield hits due to their speed.

The pitchers are going to get rest. Sean Marshall is pitching tonight for the Cubs. He's got talent but he's not normally the starter. Santana is pitching for the Mets. Lou said he's not going to lay down and tank it but he will give key players rest where needed. Maybe the bats will be alive tonight again. The youngsters have been doing well in the last couple of games.

no, i havnt been able to follow too well as i'm trying to catch up on 3 weeks of school work i missed

but i will at least watch play by play on my phone tonight if i don't make it to bww's to watch the game

The reason we picked up Cameron this year was not only Gold glove defense but also becasue he provides veteran leadership. Gwynn is still to young. You bring up a good point with us not being a "contact" hitting team. It seems like we are either rly hot or rly cold. My predictions...the mets will win the WC by 1 game, but i hope the crew can prove me wrong

Prince really bailed Mota out. Prince hadn't done very well in the last two chances that he had to win a game but did it last night.
