Wow! When I read this topic I see so many similar people! This thread, especially the last few pages, have really inspired me to get off my arse and start bulking.
It's been exactly 26 days since I started going to the gym (3 times a week), and around 5 days since I've started following Anthony Ellis's program (only workout). Diet is designed specifically by a nutrionist, which consists of 60g of protein daily, and 200g of carbs. Here are my before & after stats:
Age: 20
Height: 5"4
(10-02-2010) Starting Weight: 52 kgs (114 lbs)
Starting Bodyfat: 17.3% (!)
(26-02-2010) Current Weight: 55 kgs (121 lbs)
Current Bodyfat: Haven't measured yet, but might be about the same as before.
I've got the pics, but I'm just waiting for a better transformation to post them! Going on a bulk diet from tomorrow.
Will post my pics in a few weeks!

This is me after 5 weeks of working out. I know this is about transforming from skinny to mass, an I'm trying. Gained 4lbs (~.1lb a week) so far.

Awesome job everyone! Here's mine, 100LBS in 16 months. Yup 150-250 in 16 months. Did it all on whey, multi, and TONS of food (high cal, carb, prot). Steroid and hormone free! Recently taking jack3d and xtend. When I started I slacked on legs and shoulders big time, but since 2010, I've been working on it

Same here mate, I've not made that much progress (added progress pics to my profile) but it's definitely moving in the right direction, and seeing people's progress here has made me want to push that bit harder.
PS: just a quick question that I didn't think warrented a new thread.
Am I right in thinking that low weight/high reps builds muscle endurance, and high weight/low reps helps gain in strength?
I've just added a decent amount of weight to my barbell and dumb bells and have not adjusted to the weight yet, I went from being able to do 6-8 reps on the bench to being able to do 1-2, and doing sets of 10 reps with bicep curls to being able to do 5 (could do more but felt my back arching, so seems pointless). I've still managed to do sets of 10 tricep extenstions on the old weight & new weight, though it's obviously feeling harder.
Am I getting any benefit from this new weight, or should I go back down and do more reps?
Cheers!

Kuja. I think you should just go by your own feelings tbh.. What works for some may not work for others... I personally just make sure that the weight im lifting, i can do in perfect technique.. I tend to find that great pumped feeling better from doing this.. But for instance Arnie use to keep doing an excercise even if it meant he had to sacrifice technique.. Where as this guy called vik costa (one of the best personal trainers) says different.
So to answer your question id stick with a nice comfortable weight make sure you can complete the sets and maybe on the last 2 sets do it until failure. But it all depends on the goals you want to achieve.. Pushing yourself to the limit now and again cant do any harm. Mix it up abit shock them muscles into growth! Good luck mate
Not sure if i have helped.Time spent away from the Iron makes my mind degenerate!

Subject : Looking for fitness models (Perfect for trainers)
Hey Guys,
Just wanted to let you all know about our new modelling competition MPG-Man as a quick introduction MPG works with a number of modelling agencies and photographic studios helping to find new faces for the industry.
We started off last year looking for guys and we are ready to launch the 2010 competition. Its a pretty simple process really, send us your pics and if your good enough we will put you up on the site, don?t worry if your pics at home aren?t good enough we will get you into a sponsored photographic studio for a shoot to get your site shot done. As a bonus they will be able to give you more of an insight on male modelling and talk to you about building a portfolio.
The advice you can take or leave but why we feel this is perfect for trainers is its a great way to show off the work you?ve put into your body over the years and show off what you?ve got. So even if you don?t win the impression you make on your private clients is priceless.
For that lucky one winner we have something special in store, you will be the face of MPG-Man, you?ll feature in your own calendar, you?ll get a cash prize and though we can?t guarantee you a modelling contract we will get you a meeting with some of the top agencies in Europe with your foot in the door you will be one step away from a fitness and male fashion modelling career.
In anycase if you?re interested in taking part send me an email at aurelie@mpg-man.com and we?ll get back to you with how to enter.
Aur?lie
