With several BCAA threads going on at this time, I was hoping to get some advice on what to get. I'm looking at:
Xtend, Nitro/Nitro G, or Universal BCAA Stack AAC
but am also open to other recommendations.
I am leaning toward Xtend -- not too badly priced for the large size: 90 "servings" for $50. I'd take one serving pre and one serving post workout, so this would last me 45 days... not too bad.
On the Nitro vs. Nitro G (or any pill vs. powder for that matter), what is recommended? I'd like to get only one product this go around, but I can see the convenience of caps or tabs for taking BCAAs any time other than postworkout (when I'd want to take a powder).
Thanks, and tho I know it's sort-of been answered in other threads, hopefully this consolidates the thinking a bit and helps others out too...

My favorite is Scivation Xtend, Ive also tried Bulk BCAA and I regret that because they tasted horrible. Scivation xtend taste great and works great. I recommend watermellon over grape but both are good. Here is some feedback from people who have tried xtend

My favorite is Scivation Xtend as well ... the taste is amazing and I would pretty much live off the stuff if I could afford to do so! Until then though, I just sip on it throughout the day at school and use it before/during my workouts. I, like young_squatter, recommend the watermelon over the grape.
It tastes like Kool-Aid.

Slated,
Thanks for mentioning All In One -- I thought it was another kitchen-sink type product until you made me take a closer look. You know, an NO, creatine, pre-workout stim, and all that rolled into one... I didn't know it's an EAA/BCAA product.
Just to confirm: That's all it is, right? And some carbs... but not a bunch of other stuff.
How's the carb-free? I notice bb.com doesn't carry it.- Discipline means doing within, not doing without.

unless you get the carb free of all in one
So the choice will depend on what your looking for.New 5/3/1 Strength Journal:

Trying to keep it clean, and I'm trying out some new supplements so I want to add in the least amount of stuff as possible at a time to play chemist and tweak things individually if needed.
Next time around I think I will try out the All In One to feed an all-out bulk in the late fall. Looks like a solid product too.
I will be talking Xtend preworkout and Xtend/Storm post workout, then a shake ~30 min after.
On non-workout days probably take Xtend once per day -- better to take in the AM or PM before bed? Or does it matter much?- Discipline means doing within, not doing without.

I would sip the servings xtend pre/during/post workout, take the storm 30 min pre workout, and then again post workout. You can also take xtend any other time of the day, I recommend breakfast and before bed. On off days take 1-2 servings of xtend, timing dont matter much.

BCAA's That Your Body Can Actually Assimilate
Okay, this is going to seem like coming out of left field but I have found better results focusing on BCAA's that have high assimilation rates rather than just high amounts. I have found that plant based BCAA's are more effective and reduce my recovery time. These are my favorites:
1) Bee Pollen
2) Spirulina
3) Marine Phytoplankton
4) Sunwarrior Protein Blend
5) Vega Sport Performance Protein
Load these into a smoothie with frozen banana's and spinach and you should be good to go my friend!
