    need to share

have been lifting for about a 1 1/2 yrs and have made great gains. Started
working out with a friend but she quit after about 1 year because she
just did not like it that much. So now I work out alone, which is OK the guys at
the gym are great and help me when I need it and answer all my question
without making me feel like a dope. SO this week I decide I am going to
lift real heavy for just 3 or 4 reps and do 2 or 3 sets. I do 135 squats on
monday night and a few other things, last night I do 105 bench presses
and 85 on pushdown for tri's and I am THRILLED. I leave the gym and stop
by a friends house and try and tell her and she is like " that's nice if thats
what you want to do" and I am just busting wanting someone to say "that's
    Great" .

I am praying another women will come to the gym at the same time as
me and we can be workout partners. I need to support and motivation

And you should be, that is awesome I can relate to how you feel, I lift heavy and majority of the time I lift with my husband. He is my main supporter and motivator. People that I interact with at work and school just have no understanding and usually say pretty stupid things. I have never been able to find a female workout partner, not to sound discouraging, I just think females that lift heavy are spread thin, unfortunately many women have the misconception that if they lift heavy they are going to look like Arnold the next day! But just know that You always have the support and motivation from the women here You are doing fantastic--135lb squat and 105 lb bench that's fantastic -- KEEP IT UP!

thanks cowpie. I guess we are a little different than most people.
Listen to this one - my friend (same one I mentioned above) told me
last summer when I was going on a blind date that I should wear
something with sleeves so he would not see my biceps. I thought that
was the funniest thing I ever heard. Anyway, I will keep praying for a
partner and one for you too. You are lucky you have a husband who
    you can share that with

yes we are different....too funny (your friend)...I work my arms so hard and I wish I could get bigger overnight! go figure....
I also train with my hubby...I had a training partner for a while (male) and I loved it...his wife got jealous and we had to stop training together (I'll tell you, women sometimes LOL)

I too find it difficult to find a female that likes to train as hard as I do...oh well, I guess I'll keep teaming up with the boys
    show your biceps girl!

Great job on your lifts, girl!!
I'm back to my pre-pregnancy size!!
60 pounds lost and I'm wearing my skinny jeans again!

~took nearly 8 months to lose, using plain old exercise and healthy eating

    Great Job

Congrats 98shadow... Im impressed! Im pretty new to all this working out stuff, but I understand what you mean about the support and motivation! My bf tries to help... I dont think he realizes it, but most of the time he makes me doubt myself more than he motivates me. I want to gain some muscle, but my biggest goal is to lose weight in general. Im 21 and weigh 164... (from 172 about 5 weeks ago!!! Im excited...) Im determined that Im not gonna quit until I reach my goals (I've said that in the past though, and ended up quitting anyways..) but hey - we're all here to help each other right? Im proud of you - keep on working!
