I haven't grown in nearly 5 years

When I was just becoming a teenager I was pretty much the same height and size as almost everybody around me. But then around 14-16 all my friends started getting taller and having their bones grow bigger too, but I haven't grown at all since 13 or maybe younger, my bones haven't even gotten wider like in my wrists. I'm now 17 and about to turn 18 in a few months. I'm 5'5 and still have the same frame I've had since I was 13, not including the muscle I've gained, should I be expecting a growth spurt?

Probably not, but you never know. You can always hope.

I'm 5'6" and I love it. Being the little guy, I've always been able to gain muscle faster than all the other tall guys. We have shorter muscles, and are able to fill 'em quicker. Your actual frame is different though. Just get the nutrients you need to keep your bones strong. If your bones can't support the muscle you put on them, then that could mean trouble.

Same as me man. I've been 5'6 I think a little more when I was 13 years old. I'm 16 now. Except I gained a lot of weight when I went through depression for awhile. It sucked. But I'm still 5'6. I wish I had one of those "growth spurts" but I doubt it.

Same as me as well.... I used to be one of the top 3 tallest people in my grade in middle school... **** was like 5'8+.. which really isnt that tall.. then people started to grow like weeds, and now im just 5 10 1/2.. although i swear to god i feel a little taller now.... which doesnt mean i stopped growing, but people around me have grown, although I'm taller then most people still, which means this post made absolutely no sense, and i wrote this because i was bored.

5"10 and you're complaning? Im only 5"8 and i would do anything just to be 5"11, i always wanted to be a hollister or abercrombie model but i dont i can at 5"8....

yeah im 5'5 and i've grown 1 inch since 8th grade. Well at least im not 5'4.

i was like 5'3 when i was like 13, then i had a growth spurt around 15-16 and now i'm 6'3 at 17, i think i'm finished growing, which is fine with me!

Yea 5'6" and 18.5 yrs old here. I'd be so happy if I even got another couple inches. Doesn't make any sense since my dad is 5'11" my mom is 5'6" and my brother is 6'. Life isn't always fair, I guess.

Either you went through puberty at a young age and grew then or you still havent hit your growth spurt, or genetically short because of parents etc.

i would say that you still have a chance to grow a few more inches. ive grown about 3 inches since i was 18. im 19 now

U never mentioned wether u had hit puberty yet. heck i was short and skinny till i was 16 nearly 17 and i finally grew. It might be kinda embaressing but u should go see a doc, cuz if ur having hormonal probs, they can fix u up.

ill offend you but I have to say this: bull**** theory you have there man
shorter guys have shorter muscles, tall guys have longer muscles. when they build new muscle fibers, these muscle fibers grow as long as the previous muscle is. X amount of muscle will look bigger on tall guy than on short guy- exception here is legs, tall guys will have bigger legs but because of their height you get an illusion that theyre thin, look at them closely theyre huge.
compare lee priest a mass freak, to any tall guy on the shows he competes in. he looks like a little kid.

the only case where X amount of muscle would look bigger on A than B is if A had tiny joints, and both tall and short guys can have this (example Flex Wheeler)

I was 5'2" in 8th grade and now as a senior I'm 6'2"

. I'm still waiting for one final push so I can hopefully hit 6'5" (keeps fingers crossed).

in 7th grade i was 5' 9" and the most athletic huge monster in the class...in the 4 years since then i have grown ONE INCH to be 5' 10"...it's pathetic. i'm pretty much average now. oh well.

I am 5'11.5 and I don't care if I get any taller on not. If I grown then I'll be tall, and if I don't, then that's less muscle to put on to look buff.

what were the indications that u were going throuhg a grwoth spurt??this question is more or less directed at everyone who grew like 4 inches after the age of 16...any symptoms??

Being short is nice. You can look huge easily!

I'm 5'8'' and look big at 230. Someone who's 6'3'' and 230, however would look average though, get the idea?

Yeah, sometimes I wish I were shorter...I hate these long arms and legs, but being somewhat tall is good for wrestling.

I'm pretty sure I've hit puberty but the weird thing to me is that me and my dad are the same height, but his bones are a lot bigger and wider than mine?

just keep eatting and lifting. your body will do what your body does. you'll either grow taller or you wont.

Yeah dont get too excited. Last year i was 5'7 135 lbs then i shot up to 6'1 without gaining an ounce so i looked like a twig and have had to bulk like crazy to 180 lbs and still i only look average as far as weight. At least when you gain weight it will be more noticeable and u will fill out much faster, count ur blessings.

I'm in the same boat as you. I'm 18 (+3 months) and still just 5'7" at 135lbs. My dad is 6', my YOUNGER brother is 6' and I'm left down here thinking "uhhh... what happened to my turn?"

But my dad didn't get grow until after high school and I understand guys keep growing all the way up until they are 21. So I figure I still have time to grow. Besides, I procrastinate on everything and if my body is anything like me, it'll probably wait 'till the last minute to grow too.
