    Isopure vs. Perfect Rx

May someone please explain the difference between the two products to me? Is one a MRP while the other just a protein supplement?

I'm thinking about purchasing a 20lb tub of PerfectRx.

    Thanks

Not sure about Isopure, but I used Perfect RX for years. It's an MRP, and a cheap, good-tasting one at that.

Well, it's an MRP, so it's just food. If your diet is subpar, then using an MRP will help. But if your diet is already good, an MRP just helps with the convenience factor. In any case, it shouldn't be considered a supplement, nor should it be a substitute for real foods.

Realize that isolate based protein (especially one that is all isolate) is absorbed very rapidly. This has it's advantages, but you would probably be better off getting a mix of proteins. I'm not a fine of an all isolate protein. Your body needs a constant flow of amino's not just a big influx. If you do buy it, try to use something to slow the absorbtion down. Throw in some flax oil (which you should be doing anyway).

The reason I started the thread is that there is a big difference in price between the two products although they are manufactured by the same company. I think I'll try the PerfectRx. My diet is pretty clean to begin with.

    Thanks

Only difference is carbs and vitamins (isopure doesn't have them)

Isopure is only good as a morning shake or a post workout shake since it is absorbed so quickly
