I cant beleive how much support this guy has and how many of you think hes 1 of the best around.
Dont get me wrong hes ok but hes not even in Ronnie's, Jay's or half of other pros league.
If he were a young man just cracking into the pro ranks than thats different, but hes no spring chicken and I doubt very much if he will ever win a pro show.
Jonnie Jackson is the same, he is very thick but thickness alone doesnt win shows. He is mid to bottom level pro ( in my opinion )

Didn't he already win a pro show, the Europa Super show over Dennis James. But i do agree with you about not being in ronnies league, but who is

In my opinion, Branch shouldn't have been second at the Arnold, but he definitely doesn't suck. I don't particularly like his physique, but in my eyes he still is top ten calibre.

I actually prefer Johnnie's physique. I feel bad for Johnnie, training with Branch, and then getting killed by his partner.

Hey I saw that guy in a steroid book I picked up and flipped through while I was waiting for my wawa hoagie to be made! He is a really really cool guy. Who wouldnt want to be him? I mean he has it all. Fake tan, steroid body, and a smoothly shaved bald head! The ladies must be waiting in line for that piece of meat! I can hear him now, "How ya doin ladies, my names BRANCH"

I dont know about that...branch is a huge guy (no not ronnie or jay huge but still huge) and he gets himself shredded like very few can. hes got awesome legs and crazy delts and chest. sure he has his flaws but still hes darn good. i know what you are saying though, hes getting pretty old and may not improve very much more.

I guess we all have our opinions. I find it interesting that you guys are saying that he's washed up, yet he has made huge leaps and strides the last 2-3 years and he hasn't been a pro that long, has he?

Besides, he's easily the best conditioned bodybuilder in ages, and he has the best wheels to grace the stage in years

Um...he's 31, in bodybuilding he IS a young man.
Second, he's already won 2 pro shows.

How could you not feel the replies coming, while your opinion of Branch is valid, your facts about him are not.

come on do i cant believe the ignoracne some of you all are spitting out he only got his pro card in 01 and he did not even compete as a pro until 04..and this is the most he has competed in since he turned pro he will get better and better and alot of people are comparing him to dorian...not a bad comparison

the only complaint i got is his biceps, in his side tri poses, it looks like it barely exists, but that guy is strong. i know as far as chest is concerned, he moves the same poundages as coleman.

well... i really dont like Branch body...but the guy is a ****ing training machine...and there is only a guy that trains like him now...and that guy is Ronnie...used to be another one called Yates....thats makes the difference

At the muscle tech booth on Saturday afternoon Branch was signing autographs and putting "2006 Arnold Champ" on it... only for a few hours later to find out he lost. That must have been embarassing.

To top it off, he showed up an hour late sunday to the booth and Jay had to cover for him. When Branch finally showed up, Jay and he were yelling at each other. My money is on Jay in that fight.

JJ got killed bc of his conditioning. If both of them are on, it is much much closer.

He's already won two pro shows and has a good chance at winning a third very shortly in San Fran...

Once he gets a better stage prescence I think he will be contending with the top guys...winning some pros shows (other than the Olympia and Arnold) doesn't guarantee you're one of the "top guys" (although it helps). Look at Darrem Charles. I love the guy, but doubt if he's ever going to even crack the top five at the Olympia (and didn't do that well at the Arnold this past weekend).

You all make good points. I was unaware he won back to back shows , good on him for that.
Dont get me wrong I know his physique is good and he gets conditioned but it just frustrates me how much publicity and hype he gets. I mean I could understand if he were like Lee Priest and making top 6 at the Olympia when he was something like 23 but hes 31.

But yeah he has amzazing wheels, dunno if there the best in years but they are damn good

You have to see Branch in person to appreciate him completely. He has a hard, grainy condition that the others just don't have. He is the man.
