Disappointed about Final Results?

Just wondering who else thought the results were off from where everyone thought they should have been.
Dexter looked good, but there is no way he beat out Branch for the win.

Actual Results My Results
1) Dexter Jackson Branch Warren
2) Branch Warren Lee Priest
3) Victor Martinez Dexter Jackson
4) Gustavo Badell Victor Martinez
5) Melvin Anthony Gustavo Badell
6) Lee Priest Melvin Anthony

Just my .02 cents, but who else thought that the results were off.

I don't even think dex should have been top 3. He was in great condition. I am not slamming him. He is a great bodybuilder. I will say I respect him for sticking to what works for him and not playing the size game.
My top 5 would have been
1. Victor M.
2. Priest
3. Branch
4. Dexter
5. Melvin

just by some of the pics i saw, but pics and actually being there or 2 different things. so just by the pics i quickly looked at, even though i was way off from the judges on a lot of them.

I like lee Priest, but in no way, shape or form did he belong anywhere near the Top 5. I pull for him, he's about the coolest dude in the sport, but really. We need to evaluate his physique, not him as a person. Being very down-to-earth and honest doesn't make up for a complete lack of lat sweep, thickness or separation guys.

Vic was waaaaaaaaaay too soft to win. His shape and thickness kept him in the ballgame, but he looks like his conditioning is a good 2-3 weeks out compared to Dex and Warren.

Mustafa is a fuggin' gorilla, and I like him, but he is soft as Gustavo's ass, and lemme tell you something, that is SOFT!

I did some side-by-side comparisons with photos and whatnot in the forum here, check 'em out and see if you saw what I saw. :P

I thought the placings were pretty good. Of course people have their preferences so there is always some questioning, but there was no definite give away or anything. I would have hated to be the judges at this contest.

Victor Martinez, IMO, is overrated. I mean the dude is huge, don't get me wrong, but I believe he looked way to soft to place in the top three. He and Lee Priest both got gifts. Lee's chest is way to small when compared to guys who didn't even place in the top ten. My Top Five:

3. Dexter Jackson

5. Victor Martinez

I really didn't think Priest looked that great. It seems he lost way too much mass while getting in contest condition.

notice I said at the bottom of my post that it was my opinion. I thought that was the point of posting. I don't honestly think that the judges would have ever picked that top five. From previous shows we all know what they are looking for and dex probably deserved to be number 1. I am fine with the final top five. I would have picked differently if I had any say so but I don't. I am not much of a priest fan but if dex is going to be up there then so should priest.

I can honestly say that I am 80% satisfied iwth the top 5. I don't think Badell belonged in there, but regardless, he placed there.

otherwise, I think the judging was pretty good overall.

I cannot believe that Johnnie Jackson gets 13th! That is insane. I would have had him around 5th or 6th. And Branch Warren? Sorry, I just don't sit it. Not at 2nd place anyway.

4th. Darrem Charles
5th Johnnie Jackson

The biggest flaw in the judging is just that people continue to play down Johnnie Jackson and play up Branch Warren, when it really should be the other way around, in my opinion.

Ok, all of you rabid Branch Warren fans can now tell me what an idiot I am.

Jean-Paul, you're an idiot (as you requested). No, seriously, you are.

I love Johnny. I truly believe he has the potential, with his frame and his lines, to be one of the top bodybuilders out there. But a few points: 1) he first needs to bring his legs WAY up to match his amazing upper body, 2) part of the leg equations, his calves are absolutely horrendous, and 3) last night, he was incredibly soft. So yes, Branch destroys him. Johnny wins on back, arms and midsection; and furthermore, as good as Branch's chest is, Johnny's might even be better; but Branch destroys Johnny on the entire lower body, gives him a run for his money on chest and tris, wins on delts, and cremates him on conditioning. Again, I truly hope Johnny improves his weak points, as I'd like to see him hand Dexter and all the other Tiny Tim's their asses, like only a powerbuilder can.

JJ is my favorite bodybuilder. Please look around for my JJ appreciation thread, but JJ was smooth as silk. He was even smoother than Gustavo. He mistimed his peak, bigtime.

BIGTIME. and believe me, that upsets me, because I want to see him win the big one.

Now, Jean-Paul, how in God's name can you have a fat, water-logged ass and a big belly with no lat width and a waist as wide as your shoulders, and still place 3rd? I gotta hear you explain to me how you could have Gustavo so high.

He received a gift. He could EASILY have placed out of the top 10, if the judges didn't have this weird obsession with him. I invite you to check out the "Arnie top 5 side-by-side comparison" threads that I posted, with the compulsories plus a laughable, pathetic posterior chain pic of Gustavo in which he looks like a Mexican Greg Kovacs.

Hmm Why branch over dex?

Just because he looked good from the front doesn't mean he wins from the back. I believe dex had a more complete back. In fact warren's back was probably 3rd in the line in my opinion which makes him second. Dex is equal to him but beats him from the back

idve been happy with either dex or branch winning, but dex looks more complete, cuz branch's arms lag, especially in side shots and rdb i think

i think branch looked great but there is something terribly wrong with his biceps..they are not realy visible all you see is a bunch of veins and wrinkles.

his skin is all wrinkled up like his hamstrings..i know it's just the way his skin is but it doesn;t look apealing. anyone else know what i mean?

I know more and more pro's are complaining about the political nature of the judging. While Dex looked great, don't get me wrong. It was a toss up between he and branch. I am not a huge fan of Branch Warren, but I am willing to give him credit for coming in looking awesome.

When contests are close like this, I think maybe some judging bias plays a role. (Look at the last Olympia). I think Judges will continue to favor Ronnie, because of his extreme size, but also his prestidge. It's different when there is a clear cut standout winner. Just my $0.02.

I was dissapointed, I honestly wasn't that impressed with Dex at all. I can't stand when they just give these comps to the people that one it the year before. I easily had Vic and Branch ahead of Dex. I think Branch was a bit better than Vic though.

to me I think their upper bodies are fairly equal. I mean dex has some better things and branch has some better things as far as upper body goes.

But I think branch easily wins with the lower body, not always, but this year branch was shredded to the bone so dex usually shredded glutes didn't destroy warren. Warren lower body was phenominal
