Oh my god bad choice of costume Lee
http://img16.imagevenue.com/img.php?...2_dungeon2.jpg
man, those boots drew so much attention to the shortness of his legs, he looked like an actual dwarf, like not a short guy getting made fun of being called a dwarf, but an actual genetic dwarf

You know he's got a thing for Superman.
It's expected.
But what about Troy? That was alittle weird.

I thought he looked ridiculous. Dude has massive muscle, but those red boots made him look like a freaking midget.

Most costumes seem to make these guys look a bit 'light in the loafers'. lol
Yeah, not a good choice. But, what did Barnum say again......?

Yeah, melvin said he choreographed Troy's routine, and they both just come out there in huge masks and then do their standard routines...?
I think the oversized helmets really made their physiques look smaller, and Troy's selection from Predator was a strange choice to say the least. Just some unrecognizable sound effects really. I did think Troy looked excellent, not really a fan of Melvin's physique, though.
I considered Darrem's routine to be much more entertaining. I think he should have gotten the nod.
Oh, right, this thread is about Lee Priest... the big diamond on his belt was a little Brokeback, but the boots were cool, because everyone knows his calves aren't a weakness.

People wonder why bodybuilding is not more mainstream. I mean these costumes turn the sport into a joke.

Yes, back when I made the decision to dedicate a large part of my life to fitness/nutrition/strength training my wife looked in a magazine at guys at that year's Olympia and questioned why anyone would take these guys seriously or even model themselves after such.
After talking to a couple 'pros' in here, I decided I was in many ways already a lot more advanced and would stick to being Eric.

sorry Quelly, because I did meet him and speak to him, and this is guy is built!!! He is VERY proportionate.....
I don't consider him a clown at all....he is a businessman, just like many of them are, and they have to sell themselves or have a gimmick in some way to make money out of the wacky sport they are in.....
if you watched the Arnold, the announcer was calling everyone by their knicknames from the bodybuilding mags: the Freakin' Rican, etc.....it is all about hype, and hype sells.....
these guys, like atheletes in major sports, have limited time to make money off of their efforts, and there are many paths to choose while doing that....
Frank Robinson, because of genetics, has been blessed with a capability of building a body that most of us would die for....but, at the same time, he has been "cursed" by another quirk of genetics in that he will never be a Ronnie Coleman.....
so his future, financially, does NOT lie in winning the Arnold or the Olympia.....therefore, he has to make it in other ways, and it is as simple as that....

No, but I do feel bad for a guy that bust's his balls in the gym just to come out on stage wearing an outfit I wouldn't put on my 4 year old son for Halloween.
Yes, most of the time, they are stupid outfits, and yes they do embellish thoughts of homo-erotocism. No, I am quite far from homophobic. Just know that what appears to walk like a duck and talk like a duck many times to many people is thus a duck. Even if that duck is hiding in the closet.
I don't care if you flashed a pimped H2 in front of me...I am not going out on stage in front of thousands of people dressed in costumes like many of these guys.
But maybe it's because I am not jacked up on so many drugs that in 10 years I am going to be incapable of removing my own shirt thus it makes me realize I better humilate myself as much as possible to live my short-term dream.
To each their own...but as evidenced by the Chick video thread...these guys are NOT role models. But many people want the biggest slice of pie available even if one needs to **** blood and lose their testicles in the meantime.
I'll keep my body working at 110% and healthy for a lifetime(which is what bodybuilding should be about), and be able to buy my Lambo (would I ever want to) through year's of hard, honest work. AND, not come off as an arrogant ass while doing so.

Eric: I have been training natural for over 30 years, so I understand where you are coming from....I, like you, have chosen that lifestyle, because I want to live a long healthy life and be lifting into my oldest years....
however: this IS the Professional Bodyuilding forum here, and that IS their life, regardless of what we think about it......
what they are doing, is completely different from what we are doing, with our lives.......
you are a trainer and a gym owner...fine....you can promote health and you can be a model of that health in your own look and lifestyle....
they have chosen otherwise: with it, comes certain baggage....it is a free choice that they have made....but once they make it, there are things and concessions they must make in order to maintain.....
there is a lot of relativism here, and I , personally, do not think that this is the forum for being too judgemental about it.......
if someone is harshly judgemental about the Pro bodybuilding lifestyle, they should rant on Off topics or whatever...
where is your Gym, by the way?

Ok, maybe the costume was gay, but that still won't stop me from saying the following:

True in a lot of points.
It is kinda like me going into a BMW forum and asking why one would buy a BMW rather than a Mercedes.

no it wasnt....I made this thread because I couldnt believe what Lee Priest looked like in those boots, it really suprised me, I never really noticed his height or his torso to leg proportions until the boots drew attention to it, and I wanted to show people....I'm not some 16 year old spending his afternoons trying to piss off well known people I don't know just to feel like I am important. I like Lee as a bodybuilder, I think hes got a great look, and hes an honest guy, and I didn't like the costume, thats it.
