Can I store protein shakes made with powder for 12 hrs?

DO you guys think its a good idea to make protein shakes at home and then take them to work so that I can drink them throughout the day? I am not sure if they go bad if I make them in the morning and store it for long time.
Please reply if any of you has tried this.
