Isnt the water like all frozen up in norway wouldnt you hit an iceberg?
Ive sailed a catamaran in a lake once. i was told sailing is fastest when you are perpendicular to the wind? Is this correct?
Well, we dont sail in the winter, only in the summer. It actually gets pretty warm her in the summer couse we have the Golf stream passing our coast.. so its usualy like 20-30+ C here in the summer and arounde 17-24C in the water wich is nice
And no we dont have icebergs here lol, but the fjords usualy freez up though

lol if you were on a caramaran consider yourself a lucky man
as for perpendicular ... you cant point a boat directly into the wind .. it wont go... basically you want the wind hitting your sails on a 45 degree angle
My best friend sails 420's andf 29ers in nationals. The highest he placed was 8th nationally in a regatta. Hes a pretty talented skipper, but I dont think he trains really hard anymore.

hes 19 now, sailed in nationals from 15 on up. 29ers are awesome, the first time he showed me one I was in awe, he must have been doing 20 knots in the gorge in oregon.

yeah it was for the sears cup, the thing was me and my friends are huge, way to heavy for a crew, we were getting our asses handed to us the first couple days, the last day we got all bullets cause the wind was blowing so hard we were the only ones who could hold the boat down in the water.
