    cheap and small cardio equpment?

hey i'd like to let everyone here know that i'm 15 years old adn looking for a cardio machine to put in my room so i can use it every morning weekday morning or something like that

possibly under $250, but i can prob go a mite higher... say my room has an area of 8x8 free space and i'd like something i could stow in my closet when i'm not using it... or just anywhere really..

    what's good and foldable?

Best of all is a treadmill, but a good treadmill will cost alot more than $250. Jump ropes are good and very cheap, but work the calves alot. Steppers are good and don't take much space. I have a Cardio Glide that works pretty good and doesn't take up much space, bought for $10 at a yard sale. Rowing machine is another thing that doesn't take much space and is cheap, I have one that a neighbor gave me. Ellipticals burn almost as many cals as treadmills and most of them don't take much space.

I'd look for something used at a yard sale. Lots of people buy new cardio equipment, use it for a month or two, and then sell it. Some good deals out there.

A stepper is probably your best bet then ... quiet and takes up very little space. Most of the new treadmills do fold up, the problem there is that you need to spend at least $500 to get one worth having. (One with enough horsepower and a large enough belt size to run on ... anything cheaper than $500 or so will only be good for walking) I haven't seen any ellipticals that will fold up, but maybe there's one out there. Good luck in your search!

Check out your local newspaper. You can usually find a good bargain in there for some used equipment that is usually in pretty good shape. That or play it again sports has a bunch of stuff like that. Buy it real cheap first, make sure you use it.

Good point. Check out the newspaper classified ads for something like a barely-used stationary bike or stepper.

Another thing you can do, if you already have a bicycle with a comfy seat, is to get one of these:

If you go this route (buying a bike trainer attachment), I'd recommend buying a cheap spare rear wheel and mounting a slick (smooth tire) on it; it'll be a lot quieter that way.
