I need to go vegetarian for the next 2 weeks, its due an argument with a friend, who is a vegetarian and acts like hes better than everyone else, always trying to show how hard it is for him. So i told him that its not hard at all and anyone can do it and yada yada yada...now i have to be a vegetarian for the next two weeks. So if anyone has any info on good vegatarian sources of protein, that would be mucho appreciated.
Cheers

Cottage cheese is one of the best foods you can eat as a vegetarian or not, its cheap and it can go well with a lot of different foods. Egg whites, protein powders are probably the only things you can rely on heavily without worrying about calories.
What exactly do you not eat? I know some vegetarians that don't eat meat, but they will eat turkey, eggs and fish.

I joined just to respond.
Someone already said tofu... there's also
1) tempeh - sort of like tofu, but dehydrated soybeans, which you have to steam first
2) seitan - sold in jars and looks like brains, but cooks up like steak or chicken strips and has a good texture
3) quinoa - it's a grain, but it's a complete protein
4) I don't know how strict your diet is, but there's about 10 billion things you can grab from the freezer case - boca burgers, black bean burgers.
Also, I know you just asked about protein, but try and take in more leafy vegetables, because most people when they go vegetarian take a big hit on their iron levels.

Check out the protein content in veggies and in beans because chances are, you can get enough from them alone.
Here's a good vegetarian Q&A thread from the nutrition section though, the guy that started it is a competitor, and vegetarian.
