What causes a pathetic workout?
Hey, I had a really awful day in the gym today, basically everything was going as usual, i did my stretches, then loaded the plates on the barbell for my squat set....
I couldent even do 2 reps without stopping, i usually do at least 8.
I took 10kg off then tried again, i got to the bottom... i lost balance, the barbell rolled off my back, ripping a bloody gauge in both my palms as it fell.
I bandaged myself up and decided to move on to the bench press, i sat down and just felt like going home, i knew it was "one of those days", i slapped myself across the face a few times in frustration, then got under the bar, lifted the load i wanted to for 6 reps, i felt better immidiatly, though my strenth faded for the rest of the workout, only my bicep routine was any good. it was like my subconcious was not letting me go to failure, i just kept letting the weight down before i was meant to, even though i was telling myself over and over to go to failure;
I was wondering if there was actually any scientific reason for why your strength and edurance just plummets like this sometimes?, i am not overtraining, i do HIT twice a week, with no cardio, eating right, not ill etc.
What is noteworthy is before i left for the gym i looked in the mirror, and my face looked like ****, with bad acne from bulking, and dry skin, i felt quite down straight away, since i take pride in my normally attractive apperance, i think this may have killed my spirits somewhat, and affected my workout.
What is the real cause of this poor performance?

Hm,I've had this before.
Like one hour before I went to my work out,I had a serious fight with one of my best friends.I left him,feeling really awfull and I was really down.
During the work out I couldn't do anything,altough when I am in rage I can pump harder [in combination with hard 'n loud music ],but this time I wasn't in rage,I simply were totally depressed.
Luckely me and my friend talked it out,but it was one experience I wouldn't like to encounter again.
