This is a new world here for bb.com. Anyone abusing animals (killing and not eating) would be asked to leave this forum.

I take my fair share of fish and game. Respect for what these creatures give myself and my family..Deserves the utmost respect.

fitnessman: thanks. The WSB are one of the most prized if not the most prized fish in california to hunt. They are very elusive and many divers go a couple years before they learn to successfully hunt them. Being at the right place where these pelagic fish come in is one thing. Not blowing bubbles, making noises, etc is another. The fish is AWESOME!!!! Better than striped bass. I really like Grouper...Here's one from a recent trip to Mexico. Shot him in 45 feet of water. More people have died to grouper than any other fish due to shallow water blackout. Groupers after you shoot them will HOLE UP, in other words, go under rocks. So getting them out is very difficult and consumes a lot of oxygen.
Luckily I stoned this fish by breaking its spine. He died on impact pretty much.
If you're interested in seeing a few VIDEOS below: I have my camera in one hand, speargun in the other.. everything's done breathhold diving, no scuba tanks
Some fish are very skittish. These two I shot were not, first time using camera while shooting.

I've caught 500 lb Hammerheads and 700 lb Tigers. In fact, the night after I got that one my buddy got a 900 lb tiger. That was a real treat to get in, lol!! if you think you're in shape, hook up to one of those behemouths, 5 hours of cardio, deadlifts and good mornings. I just snapped a pic of the rod I used for him. A 1975 Fenwick 100 lb class rod with a Penn Senator 12/0 reel. I sold my 16/0 last year and I'm looking for a 20/0 on Ebay if one ever shows up, they're VERY rare rods.
