Bear makes some great starter bows, also look into redhead and reflex.
As for me I love archery, have a P.S.E. compound but im saving up for a couple Olympic recurves to start training for the 08 or 12 olympics. Plus another shorter risered olympic recurve for deer hunting.
There is so much stuff to buy yet no money for me to buy them with lol. Maybe once I graduate and start making good money I will let wild and go on a shopping spree.

Went to Bass Pro shops near St. Louis last weekend, after the season sales out the ass...Stocked up on next years camo, and bought Remington Heavy shot 3 and a half inch 2s for bird season.....Gotta love Bass Pro, went to the original one down in Branson, Mo a couple years ago, it really is the sportsmans paridise.
Got a ? for u all tho...Ive always only hunted dear during the two diff shotgun seasons, and im looking in to getting a nice first time Bow...Good place to buy one, brand suggestion, specs, all that good stuff...Any suggestions??

Yeah man, you can go the bass pro/cabelas route and you might get a good set up that fits you. But I would recomend you go to a pro-shop and try some out first.
How much are you looking to spend? You can go the low end route and spend between 500 and 700 or go the high end route and spend a lot more.
Hoyt, Mathews, and Bowtech all make great bows.
Check out archerytalk.com you can get a lot of great info there.

Brawny Paper Towel Rep
For anyone interested.
This site is the absolute best on good deals for outdoors equipment.
I've never really seen anything hunting/fishing related there. But it can't be beat for climbing/snowboarding/skiing/hiking/etc.
Each day they pick an awesome product and sell it for a crazy low price. Make sure you check it early in the morning before it sells out. Cuz trust me, the best ones always do!

SFC US Army
If you want good camping gear, do a search for C&E gun shows in your area. You can get all sorts of military issue gear like mummy bags, ruc sacs, Kabar knives, MRE's, etc. Usually for a good price.
I just picked up an M-9 Bayonet for $45USD at the gun show this weekend. These things retail online for about $90 so I got a great deal.

Prices can be a bit up there but the return policy is like nordstroms and if you catch a sale you can get stuff really cheap.

I do all my outdoor gear (other than hunting of course) shopping hear just because they are so damn trustworthy.
p.s. I work for REI (#9 best company out of 100 to work for) so I'm a bit biased, but it really is a badass company. I do a lot of outdoor stuff like hiking/backpacking/camping/skiing/ect. If you have any questions ask away.

Pretty good for a starting job - I work in the distribution center in the online department and am up to around 12.50 an hour. Nothing great but I'm in school full time (paid for by the GI bill) so it's a nice cushion.

I think Cabela's and Basspro are pretty much interchangeable, aren't they?

Just about every time that my wife and go to Basspro she is like "What is this gonna cost me?..." The funny thing is she usually buys just as much or more than me.....LOL!
