Who has been elevated by feuding with Trips?

Just pick one, or more, if you think they were elevated by being in the ring with "the Game". In the instance of guys who have feuded with him multiple times, like Kane or HBK, take the overall gut feeling you have for the average. (Poll is coming, wait b4 commenting, plz)

Personally, I ONLY think Batista got a rub.

RVD - was squashed.
Bubba - was squashed even worse.
Kane - squash.
Steiner - squash.
Booker - utter squash (w/ the infamous 18 second delayed pin...)
Batista - WOO HOO! He was elevated (despite bad booking.. "HHH is so great" speaches from Dave)
Goldberg - horribly booked. Ended up worse (not a squash, though)
Shawn Michaels - not elevated, but not hurt either.
Benoit - Same as Michaels, IMO. Even w/ the Title the show revolved around H, which made him look weak.
Orton - squashed.

And these are just the last 10 guys he'd feuded w/ (minus Flair and Show). This is ignoring the weekly destruction of tag teams or talented guys like Tajiri, etc.

IMO, H = selfish prick. The kind of "me" guy he whined about and said Warrior was when Warrior made his return and squashed him. How sad is it that I can make pretty strong arguments that 7/10 of these guys ended up being de-elevated? (this poll didn't even include poor Eugene who was a super-over until he was booked as a stooge to H and then utterly destroyed by him)

I haven't followed a lot of the feuds or seen a lot of the PPVs from 1 year or 2 years ago, so I gotta ask. When you say squash, Triple H didn't actually go over clean on all these guys, did he? He had to have cheated to go over on all those guys. Bubba, I can see a clean victory and HBK at times, but how could he go over clean on the rest.

I voted Batista and Randy Orton.

HBK was already a main eventer before HHH, so that's the reason I didn't pick him. I think HBK helped elevate HHH a little more IMO after their great Summerslam encounter.

In HHH's defense it would take a very special wrestler, like a Kurt Angle, to actually elevate HBK at this point in his career (or back when HHH was fighting w/ him)

Well I mean, are you going by elevated as in "moving up the card." Or elevated as in "taking them to a great match."

Because if the latter is the case, than truthfully my vote would only be HBK because of their Summerslam match.

Moving up the card. HHH can have a decent match, when it's not booked to be a squash (like his recent outings with Flair, which were solid).

The buildup to WM21 was just what Batista needed to get put over the top, but in the poll I voted for Orton because I wanted to see what Orton could do as a babyface at that time (thanks to Trips)

Orton had it GREAT, but the E blew it when they tried to turn him face. Terrible move in hindsite. I thought it was terrible at the time as well. If anything Orton should have led Evolution and kicked out Trips. Orton was OVER!!!

They did the right thing by turning him face. They just did it in the wrong way. He wasnt getting the reactions of a heel, he was over as a face with most of the fans...people wanted to see him doing things that faces would do.

I thought Orton was developing into a heel the likes of Scott Hall. Someone who everybody thought was cool/cocky, and wanted to see. He had the strut, had the taunts. They turned him face and he thought he could just smile at us all and we would blindly cheer. He lost his edge after that.

I agree that he should have kept his cockyness, but he should have been winning more matches cleanly and throwing less hissy fits.

He was already basically a face before the WWE made him an official face, so i dont think they had to change so much about his character.

Lets talk about ways that he could have been kicked out of Evolution...because i KNOW that there are a million better ways that it could have happend.

In my opinion I dont think Evolution turning on Orton was a very good start to his face run. I feel it would have been better to have had Triple H and Evolution willing to support Orton as champion because they were evolution through and through. But as the weeks go by and with the help of some good quality segments you could see HHH getting more and more jealous and frustrated that he wasn't World Champion. This leads to an eventual in ring confrontation between HHH and Orton in which Trips gets RKO'd. Evolution then side with Triple H which sets up their feud without making Orton look like a reject.

Batista and Orton both benefited from their feuds with HHH. Flair didn't. RVD sure as hell didn't. Orton and Batista are now on another program and as far from HHH as possible. Ain't much the limited minds of the writers cna come up with to further any storyline with those three. (But just about everyone on this board has at least 2 good ideas!)
