horse-shoe
I know all those strong men that travelled around in carnivals, used to bend horse shoes, and I also that most of them was pre-prepared.
Anyway as fun as that is!
Whatever the age, your age, how did people around you react when they understood that you where very strong???

"Stanless" Steel
I met Stanley "Stanless" Steel, a number of years ago, who bent a heavy-ass horse shoe, a 40-penny nail, and a thick flat steel plate right in front of me in an exhibition.
These guys exist, and they can bend this stuff for real!

Stanless Steel is INSANELY STRONG!!! Pat Povilaitis, Steve Weiner and Dennis Rodgers are all modern day strongmen with Dennis Rodgers being the smallest and strongest

It was really like a dream. Here was this hulk (this guy is big) standing in front of the audience, calmly telling us that he was going to bend the living daylights out of these pieces of metal. While he was bending them, his body got pumped and turned reddish. You could just see the amazing amount of tension being applied.
He told me that the hardest piece of those three was the 40-penny nail. He bent it at arms-length, straight out in front of him. He said that the leverage was very difficult in that position. He bent it into a 45-degree angle.
I couldn't carry the horse shoe away, but he gave me that, and the two other pieces which I still have. He signed the flat plate. He bent these piece a lot! He really disfigured that horse shoe!
At the time he was in New Jersey. He gave me his flyer, announcing his availability for Strongman demonstrations, but I misplaced it.
He said

My strength is half physical and half "Chi," inner strength. It's not just all physical. I'm doing a lot of this with my mind and "Chi."

I was familiar with this concept from Martial Arts.
I hope to meet him one day again.

Stan is still around, if you ever get to the AOBS you'll likely see him there.

Thank you all for all the answers, it didn't make me wiser on some level levels, but what the hell.
I would have tried it myself, if it wasn't that I'm a non-active anymore, and something I hope non of you get, something like an arthritis.
thanx!!!

Is this the question that you were trying to get an answer to?

If I were to answer this, I would say that I'm not a "very strong" person, but I tried hard as hell to be and have always loved strength and strength-related pursuits. For example: I came across the Captain Of Crush grippers by accident and found out that I was pretty good at it, even to the point of certifying (which was not my intention when I first got them).
