Salads are one of my favourite foods. I love putting putting lots of stuff in them but was wondering when I make a huge salad ... if I use chick peas or red kidney beans how much should I use? Since they are high in protein, can I also put tuna in my salad? I don't want to put in too much protein!

I love chickpeas and kidney beans in my salads too. You have similar stats to me so you could have 1 x small can tuna with about 1/2 cup of legumes/beans. Remember, they are high in protein but they should really be considered a carb source as they are also higher in carbs than protein. However, because they have a lot of fibre in them, they are considered low gi and will keep you full for longer.
Don't forget making hummus too: You can make it yourself by blending chickpeas, lemon juice/vinegar, and some tahini or olive oil, blend up and add some garlic or herbs/spices. You can spread it on wholegrain bread or just have a big dollop in your salads! So good!
