    Height at Strong Safety?

Will height ultimately be the thing that makes or breaks me at this position? My goal is to play any type of college ball at SS, but the tallest I think I'll get is 5'9''-5'10''...What do you all think?'
    5'8'' 207 13 percent bodyfat
    225x26 bench
    11.01 100 meter dash
    90 lb db shoulder presses(x2)
    powerclean 265
squat and dead maxes to come

    17.5'' arms
    47.4'' chest

5'10 is fine, I have seen safeties at anywhere from 5'8 to 6'5.

5'9 isn't bad for a SS.. Im gonna be around 5'10 at max too, but we just gotta work with what we got At CB there are more 5'8 type guys so I just gotta bulk up and maintain this speed and hopefully move to SS..

If you are a solid athlete, then you will get looks. Height is more of a factor for D1 programs than D2/D3/NAIA programs. We have had solid athletes that get passed up by D1 programs becuase they don't have the physical characteristics, i.e. height, weight, etc. We have also had athletes that were average but because they were 6'5, 260, scouts wanted film on them.

Depends on the type of defense the team plays that you are on. If the use the SS more in coverage than the do in run support your height is fine. If they basically just want their SS to be another LB then you might have some problems seeing the back field. Solution study game film.

Depends on how athletic you are and how fast you close in on a tackle or how high you can jump to deflect passes... if you are 5' 5" and stay busy and lay licks on people and are athletic you can play in college
