    How much can you guys Decline Press, compared to Flat Bench Press?

    Well? I think I may bench 155-160 now, so what do you think my Decline Max may be?? Thanks. And what do you max on decline,... compared to flat bench.

    yeah I guess I shouldn't frown, but I want that on flat bench! I did press over 300 in a ME exercise for the first time yesterday so that helps.

    I dunno dude try it and see.

    I wouldn't have a clue, as I have yet to decline bench. Maybe I should once in a while and give flat benches a break?

    OK. Tomorrow is my bench day. I'll try a max and see. Last bench day I got 375 on flat. It would fell really cool to get 4 plates, even if it is decline. I'll let you know tomorrow.

    Well Healthy. I did the declines today. I didn't have a spotter, so I didn't max out. BUT, I normally get 315 for 4 or 5 on flat bench. I did decline after working up to 365 on flat bench. I had 315 on the bar, and did 6 reps and stopped. I had a lot more in me though. I feel like I could have gotten 9 or 10.

    After the declines though, my shoulders ached a lot more than when I do flat. Does decline involve the shoulders more?
    So I'm not as strong as you...It doesn't mean that I can't kick your ass.

    Thank you SO MUCH man!!!!!!!! This is gonna help me today. Wow, you bench a lot!! Alright, in 30 minutes, I'm gonna do declines, to a max. I'll tell you how it compares to my old flat max, and possible new flat max.

    Also, I know that incline uses shoulders more, but decline?? I'll report to you about how I feel when doing them. Maybe they do?? OR, maybe it was all of the benching you did...

    Well, I got 175lbs. My old flat bench max was 140, and its probably 160 now.

    I did get FLAT Close Grip Bench with 135lbs for 5 reps, but went to failure.... On July before the 10th, my record was 80lbs for five for Flat close grip bench. So I wonder what my FLAT max is now..


    Oh yeah, I didn't feel anything different with my shoulders...
