No carbs are going to be 'better' for you than another carb. But in terms of satiety I would deffo go with oats, fruit, yogurt etc. for my carbs. Also, you do not need to eat anything pre workout unless you feel it makes you workout better. Overall daily macros are what matters.

Oatmeal, Whole Wheat Bread, Whole Wheat Pasta, Brown Rice, Veggies, and before workout some fruit like and Orange, Banana, or Apple would be good.

The key is to get complex carbs like the first 5 I listed, and it's an extra bonus that most of them are medium-high in fiber. The orange, banana, and apple are all fruits that have simple sugars to replenish your liver and muscle glycogen during/before/after a workout.

After a workout Honey is good, too, because it's almost pure glucose, and glucose is a simple sugar that can help with anabolic processes after a workout.

Just don't go overboard with any of it and you'll be good to go.

By healthy i assume you mean nutrient dense and unprocessed food (people in this forum will bash you for not defining healthy). Anyways, brown rice, oats, fruit, whole wheat bread, corn, tomatoes, carrots, squash, and onions. That's all i can think of for now.

Yes, it may be brotastic. High carbs also include pixie sticks and candy corn, but I figured I'd list foods with more nutritional girth to them...

complex carbs no doubt are better for general health but won't do you any favors in terms of body composition as opposed to simple carbs. health should always come first before your body IMO but as long as your diet is composed of more nutrient dense food than processed, i'd say you have nothing to worry about. the rest of your post is pretty much wrong though.

Fruits. They're nature's multivitamins and they taste awesome. I like bananas (no homo), blueberries, kiwifruits, and strawberries. Mangoes too.

I know you have a lot of knowledge on nutrition but I dont think advising someone to eat brown rice, oats and whole wheat pasta is bad advice! The content of your calories doesnt matter as much if you hit your macros as everyone knows, if i eat white rice vs brown rice to be honest there wont be a ton of difference (i happen to always get brown for the taste). but if you ate nothing but candy corn as a carb source id reason your workouts would suffer...there is a reason people have advocated complex carbs. there is a relationship between content of calories and performance in the gym at least from my personal experience.

The above statement/post does not represent the opinions of anyone in real life. This is the internet. Not real life. Anyone who cannot grasp the difference between the two lacks the basic intelligence necessary for survival and should not be allowed to form opinions.

Oats are pretty great. I actually ate some today raw in milk, like cereal, because I didn't have time to cook them before I had to leave. It was actually pretty decent.

some people respond better to certain carbs-- it's just finding the ones that you like and the ones help you throughout your workout and day the best.

some people respond better to certain carbs-- it's just finding the ones that you like and the ones help you throughout your workout and day the best.
