Seems if you gobble up enough food, especially protein and do heavy squats, calf raises, leg curls and some leg presses, you should be able to increase the overall size of your legs, ankles included.

The closest you will get to increasing ankle size is the seated calf raise which works the lower calf. As to how far down any growth will go, well, that's all genetics.

My gym just go one of the freemotion calf raise machinces and WOW. You can really feel it working all of the stabilizer muscles in the sides of your calfs and ankles. The pedals pivot forward and sidways so you are forced to use all of your stabilizer muscles where as a standing or seated calf raise you have a solid platform to push off of. If you dont stabilize your feet your ankle will bend and you foot will slip off. I feel this thing working muscles I didnt even know I had LOL. I dont know if you have one at your gym but if you do then try it out.

Try playing hockey or just ice skating. While I don't know if it will make your ankles "bigger", it will definitely strengthen them.

the size of the ankles mean NOTHING if anything concentrate on increasing the size of your calves and that'll take attention away from your ankle size..

If you really want to make your ankles bigger, have one of your friends take a bat to the back of your ankles. You are guaranteed to gain at least an inch. This must be done at least once a week to keep your size.

First of all...you think too much. I'm sure nobody notices your ankles.
Secondly for bodybuilding purposes it is much better to have very small ankles and wrists. It definately creates the illusion of larger calves/arms.
My ankles are "normal" or average in size and my calves are around 16 1/2. Another guy at our gym has tiny tiny ankles also with 16 1/2 calves. Although my calves have decent size, his look HUGE in comparison.

Yeah dude I've been hardcore working calves and legs for nearly two years and I still get called "captain skips'' and similar things, you can't increase your ankle size much it's what you're born with but if you increase calve size and vascularity you should get better feedback for it...

Nobody looks at your ankle. When was the last time you looked at some guy's ankle? If it bothers you so much then wear thicker socks.

You can make your ankles bigger by including skipping. Granted their isn't much meat on them but the tendons can become thicker. Doing any exercise where you lift your toes helps build up the tibialis and extensors (that wrap round the shin) which will help giving the impression of thicker legs. This won't be easy and you'll need to do high rep high intensity but it will give a result. All ontop of calf raises seated and standing. Don't give up.

Legs and ankles
Hi mate your not alone. I have really thin ankles too and it's embarrassing wearing shorts. But I guess these guys are right in what they are saying. That's all we can really do.
