NCG ? N-carbamylglutamate ?
Looks decent. Saw one study on piglets. increased serum arginine and growth hormone.
I know BSN was coming out with an NCG product, but I noticed that CMI is already selling it in "Anabolic Switch".
Anybody have good results with CMI products? The overall supplement looks good and they give you exact dosages on each ingredient, no proprietary blend.

I dont think CMI has it in any of their products?
Anabolic Switch is just a creatine by MRI.
But yeah, it looks good and seems to be beneficial to protein metabolism/ urea excretion, a good side effect for a crowd chugging down protein and such.

write-up
ANABOLIC SIGNAL contains:
3-DHPX? is a proprietary extract of the Magnesium salt of 70% Lithospermic acid B (2-[(2R,3S)-4-[(E)-2-[(1R)-1-carboxy-2-(3,4-dihydroxyphenyl)ethoxy]carbonylethenyl]-2-(3,4-dihydroxyphenyl)-7-hydroxy-2,3-dihydrobenzofuran-3-carbonyl]oxy-3-(3,4-dihydroxyphenyl)propanoic acid) from Huang Ken root. 3-DHP is a rich source of polyphenols, minerals, glycosides and beneficial organic acids. Serious and committed athletes are prone to extended bouts of extreme exertion to achieve their physical objectives. Unfortunately, chronic oxygen deficiencies (known as hypoxia), such as result from extreme athletic exertion, increase oxygen free radicals that damage cell membranes, promote inflammation, distress cell function, reduce energy production, lead to constriction of vascular tissues, subsequent vascular tissue damage and ultimately promote the process of cell death (apoptosis)?a very bad thing for athletes?especially body builders. 3-DHP has been shown to promote healthy immune system function; help maintain healthy bone mineral density; exert potent antioxidant effects; inhibit hypoxia induced damage, alleviating the need for inflammation and apoptosis; promote vasodilation and improved microcirculation; provide neuro protection; and maintain, enhance and prolong healthy cell function?a very good thing for athletes?especially body builders.
DE357? is a proprietary extract of Benzolive Leaf containing 17% of 3,5,7-trihydroxy-2-(4-hydroxyphenyl)-4H-1-benzopyran-4-one: DE357 is a rich source of valuable and potent bioflavonoids, flavonols, their glycoside forms and other phenolic compounds. In addition, it offers a high nutritional value by providing important minerals, a good source of protein, vitamins, beta-carotene, amino acids and various phenolics. DE357 provides antioxidant benefits, promotes healthy immune function and enhances collagen utilization, particularly following tissue damage, making it potent for wound healing and tissue repair. These valuable benefits are great to enhance tissue structure, function, performance and recovery.
NCG ? N-carbamylglutamate: High output exercise increases ammonia and depletes glutamine, needed for ammonia detoxification. Excessive ammonia accumulation can easily occur following extreme exertion. Excessive ammonia can disrupt GH function. NCG helps prevent ammonia buildup, promotes removal and disposal of ammonia, and therefore helps enhance GH activity. Animal research shows that NCG increases arginine and Growth Hormone levels, muscle growth rate and improved muscle protein synthesis as much as 21 to 30%. Muscle growth enhances strength and energy production.
Benfotiamine (S-benzoylthiamine monophosphate): Benfotiamine is an advanced biologically active, highly effective, and more bioavailable lipophilic (fat loving) form of thiamine. Elevated blood glucose is associated with excessive Protein Kinase C and inflammation, increased protein glycation (damage to proteins due to glucose) and increased oxidative stress. Aside from many of the problems associated with inflammation, it promotes catabolism or the breakdown of the body?s own tissues. Benfotiamine was shown to decrease these occurrences. In addition, high levels of blood glucose are known to cause unhealthy changes in the small and large blood vessels, including the death of cells lining these the blood vessels (endothelium), weakening the strength of the vascular (blood carrying) system. These weakened endothelial tissues are now much more susceptible to oxidative free radical damage, inflammation, accelerated deterioration, a reduced ability to deliver oxygen and nutrients to needy tissues and impaired energy production. Benfotiamine will help reduce tissue damage from a workout, and promote the muscle size and output needed to meet the exertion demands of your workout.
Basella alba L. (Basellaceae) methanol extract (BA): Animal, Ex-Vivo, and cell culture studies demonstrate that BA enhances testosterone production and promotes healthier Vitamin A levels, important for anabolic hormone, immune and tissue recovery functions. BA is also high in Calcium, Magnesium, Manganese and Zinc, minerals crucial for energy, tissue strength, heart function, immune health, testosterone production, and therefore muscle growth and healthy natural fat burning.
White Button Mushroom [Agaricus bisporus] Extract (30%) aka WBM: Everyday we are exposed to enormous amounts of environmental estrogens (xenoestrogens) from foods, pesticides, plastics, etc. These estrogen species are known to promote increased fat storage, disrupt healthy hormone and immune function, contribute to cancers and interfere with healthy metabolic function, especially for performance athletes such as body builders. WBM extract supports healthy immune function and has been shown to inhibit estrogen synthesis, reducing estrogenic effects while trying to improve lean body composition and strength. Reducing the effects of estrogens is crucial to build bigger stronger muscles for increased performance and reduce body fat stores.
DU ZHONG (BARK) An exciting new discovery finds that the bark of Chinese herb Du Zhong is a remarkable phytoandrogen. Du Zhong (Eucommia ulmoides) contains valuable fatty acids, flavonoids and flavonol glycosides, and (the bark) possesses potent male hormone-like effects that interact with human androgen receptors. Du Zhong provides immune support, is a potent antioxidant and improves neuronal NO Synthase (the enzyme that triggers the production of NO in the nerves), which has been shown to enhance virility in rats. Du Zhong (bark) also promotes Nitric Oxide formation in the blood vessels which has a relaxing effect. Furthermore, Du Zhong promotes healthy blood sugar regulation. Du Zhong is a potent antioxidant that promotes healthy blood lipids, crucial for heart and nerve function, hormone production, and energy production. These benefits translate to improved metabolic function, optimized performance, stronger tissues, and enhanced muscle building capabilities.
Zinc Mono-L-Methionine ? Zinc promotes antioxidant and immune functions, stabilizes and maintains the structural integrity of biological membranes, and plays a pivotal role in skin and connective tissue metabolism and repair. Zinc is an integral constituent of a large number of enzymes including antioxidant enzymes, and hormones including glucagon, insulin, growth hormone, and sex hormones, like testosterone. High concentrations of zinc are found in the prostate gland and choroid of the eye. Zinc deficiency leads to impairments of growth, dermal, gastrointestinal, neurologic, hormonal and immunologic systems. Zinc Methionine is a superior source of zinc and has been shown to increase Insulin-Like Growth Factor 1 (IGF-1) levels and function. IGF-1 is a potent protein/hormone similar in structure to insulin and plays an important role in growth, demonstrating significant anabolic effects in adults. This means it helps to build more muscle mass and decrease the need for fat storage.
Potassium Citrate ? Tissue acidosis is due to depleted alkalizing buffers and lowers strength, energy, endurance and performance output. In fact, muscle wasting (and obesity) can be measured by (low) potassium (K+) levels. High levels of exertion deplete potassium, a potent alkalizing buffer, and promote acidosis, limit energy production, promote fatigue, prolong and exacerbate recovery, and burden calcium metabolism. Increased muscle K+ availability and uptake by muscles during the final seconds of exercise are consistent with a greater activation of the muscle Na(+) - K+ pump (sodium ? potassium pump), reduced cellular K+ loss and reduced fatigue. Greater acidosis was found after sprint training as evidenced by a lower arterial plasma concentration of [K+] and [Na+], and higher plasma concentrations of [Lactate-]. Supplementing with IA?s superior potassium citrate ensures the best performance results.

Ohh okay yes you were right.
Alot of stuff I havent really heard about too much, and some of the dosages look alittle low at first glance but it does look promising.
And of course, reps to CMI for not using a prop blend and giving us numbers. I also like that the extractions of the plants are well explained; they give us the percentage AND what it is standardized for. Very specific too, which may account for the low dosages (no need for larger doses when they are extracting for precise nutrients)
Seems to be a good product to stay in good training condition, avoid overtraining symptoms, etc. I would be interested in trying it.
Almost reminds me of the up and coming Mass FXExtreme from AX and Primal Male from MAN

Well, the pig study showing benefits used 50mg/kg of body weight, so the NCG dose look pretty low unless you take two servings per day, in which case the product becomes pretty expensive.
According to the pig study my dosage would be around 3.5 grams NCG. Perhaps growing piglets need more than a developed human though, Im not sure.
Ideally, the stuff would come out in a bulk powder and we could really experiment with it and see if it yielded any noticeable benefits. Hopefully the BSN product will have a greater amount of NCG.

Piglets are not the same thing as fetuses, you know. and humans ARE animals
Here is some info on the main ingredient, the "benzolive" leaf
http://treesforlife.org/project/moringa/default.en.asp
Why they chose to use the french name for the stuff, who knows! I rather like the name "Moringa"
just search for moringa leaves on google to find out more. Seems to be a quite nutritional leaf!

Is it not just a more effective variant of NAG?

I don't think N-carbamylglutamate can be sold as a supplement I beleive that is the reason of the late release of both products. it's on it's way to become an RX drug under the brand name Carbaglu (carglumic acid)= N-carbamylglutamate.

If it cant be sold as a supp...shouldnt there be "no" release of it than?
I was curious about that since I was skimming through info on the prescription drug. Kinda hard to buy a "supplement", knowing that potency isnt regulated but with the Rx drug, you know you are getting exact compound/dose.

There could be a way a round it but I don't think so. I think it all depends on who brings it to the market first, supplement company or pharm company. I think if the pharm gets to it first then we can not sell it as a dietary supplement because it will be a drug. Now if we get to it first they can still make it a drug and we can still market it as a dietary supplement only if it's natural. fish oil is perfect example..makes since?

Such as omega 3 ethyl ester prescribed to people with cardiovascular issues compared to standard supplementation with fish oil?

Anabolic signal just made it's way onto the bb.com store.
marketed as "A Powerful Anabolic, Testosterone Booster, And Anti-Estrogenic Formula!"
I'd rather get ahold of that prescription NCG.

Cmi Reps
I was just wondering if CMI reps could explain their product a little bit. Do they ever come on BB.com? It would be nice to know if this product is going to give you some gains or if is more for healthy recovery purposes. I mean at maximum dosage most would go through 2 bottles a month. At $80 a month I would like to know what I can expect from taking Anabolic Signal before I am willing to buy it.

Ibe is right.contined inclusion of ncg in their product would have put their company in jeapordy. The choice for cmi was an obvious one.

well I`ll try the old version , if ncg is going to be a pharmaceutical compound I believe it worth a shoot
